Manchester Utd vs Young Boys (By: Stanioooo)
Manchester United will host Young Boys in the 5th round of CL at Old Trafford.
The situation in group H is:
1.Juventus- 9 points 2.Man.United- 7 points 3.Valencia- 5 points 4.Young Boys- 1 point.
This game is more than required for United. If United fail to win against the outsider in the group Young Boys at home, while Valencia(even if they lose in Torino against Juve), the sutiation in the group will become very tough for United. They will save their 2 points advantage or make them 3 for example with a draw, but we know that the first game at Old Trafford finished 0:0 and in the last round United will visit Valencia, so in case of a loss in Spain, United will be eliminated. That will be the last drop of Mou's coaching career in United for sure if the team continues in EL instead of CL. The team is going very bad in Premier League being at 7th position, so Champions League is their main priority right now. They earned unexpected win against Juve in the last round with 1:2 in the last minutes, so the chances even for the 1st place are still alive. They can rely on almost full squad for this game against Young Boys, so anything than a home win will be outstandingly huge surprise, although in the last round in PL they took only a goalless draw against Crystal Palace.
Young Boys will win the trophy in Switzerland, that's obvious as they have big advantage as leaders, but in CL they faced the reality how far are from the top teams in Europe. I expected better performance by them, as they have good strikers and midfielders, mostly to score more goals. Well, they got to score twice against Valencia, but received 10 goals till now in 4 games and the number is likely to increase after the visit at Old Trafford. They earned only a point against Valencia at home and maybe they will finish only with it after they have to play with United and Juventus in matches of high importance for both clubs, because they are fighting for the 1st place in the group.
Two are the main reasons for my pick, which is United (-1.5 AH). The first one is the quality difference- the first game in Switzerland finished 0:3 for United in a match where the result could be easily something like 1:4/2:5 after both clubs missed a lot of chances. The second reason to look for a handicap for the hosts is because Young Boys will miss some important players like Sanogo in midfield, who is maybe the heart of the team. He received a red card against Valencia and will miss this game. Also one of their main strikers Hoarau is out, because of an injury. Wuthrich and Lotomba are the other missings for YB. United will be only without Lindelof and Dalot. I am not sure what's happening with Rojo, maybe he is also still injured. The centre backs are expected to be Baily and Smalling. Shaw is also expected to start in the line-up against YB.
I expect to see much better performance by United players in comparison with the match on Saturday against CP. Really hope to see Martial, Rashford and Lukaku as forwards together with Pogba, Mata and Matic in midfield. This line-up can destroy YB once again for sure.
