Ludogorets vs MOL Vidi (By: Stanioooo)
Ludogorets host MOL Vidi in the 1st leg of their CL qualification tie.
Ludogorets changed their coach after the end of the previous season and maybe that was the best news which could be expected by their supporters. Previous manager Dimitar Dimitrov was such a defensive kind of manager, which was annoying for a club with such an attacking power, almost the same situation like Mourinho and Manchester United-1:0 was enough result for him.. it was so boring to look Ludogorets during most of the matches, only in Europe competition matches they often played quality football and that was the reason to get out of a group with teams like Braga, Istanbul Basaksehir and Hoffenheim, before Milan stopped them. So, the new manager in very experienced, he is Brazilian and his name is Paulo Autuori. Since his arrival, the club is growing tactically, that's obvious. They always play with a lot of ball possession and passes, but now I see they try to play very simple football, much more direct and faster, using perfectly both flangs, playing with more passes on the ground, not like in the matches with Dimitrov, when flangs were used only to cross the ball and teams with taller defenders like Copenhagen totally outplayed us, because of this stupidity. Now I see Autuori uses their speed for breaking through the defenses with the wings and they have the chance to shoot much more from distance or give the finishing passes to the striker. That looks like the football I felt in love when I first saw Ludogorets in Europe matches seven years ago. The difference is that they are much more experienced and with better squad quality.
Ludogorets first official results for the new season are perfect- 1:0 win in the Super cup, 1:0 in the domestic league+ 7:0 and 2:0 wins against Crusaders in the CL qualification matches. The new manager is looking how to strenghten the weakest parts of the team and that were the lack of options in the centre of the team(Abel Anicet is injured and can't play, while the Polish national player Goralski needs more time to be absolutely fit for the new season, because his vacation was little bit longer because of the WC) and of course the defense. 0 goals in the first 4 matches is good as a start, although their opponents had chances to score them, I talk about Slavia were pretending for a penalty in the Super cup match, while Crusaders hit the post in Northern Ireland. Still 4 clean sheets as a start is good achievement and Campagnaro is looking to start in the middle with Dyakov, so Anicet miss will not be such a big blow, because he is out since a long time. Finally the striker problems are over and the club rely on perfect duo of Keseru and Swierczok. problems have gone one by one with the new manager and he will need time of course, but all the players and the staff said their only job is to help the club to qualify in the CL group stages. I strongly believe they will do it this year, after last season they were eliminated by Beer Sheva on away goals rule.
What to tell about Videoton or MOL Vidi as it's their new name. They won the title in the last round and maybe they drew the hardest opponent they can face at this level. Videoton had problems with Dudelange in the previous qual.tie after 1:1 in Luxembourg and 2:1 win at Pancho arena in Hungary. They don't show anything to prove they were much better than their Luxembourg opponents and that really frightened their manager. OK, they won the first domestic match fro the new season 4:0 at home and have some really quality players like Scepovic and Danko Lazovic in forward positions, so Ludogorets have to keep an eye on them during the whole game. But c'mon Ludogorets had to keep players like Ronaldo, Cavani, Liverpool and Arsenal players and so on during the last seasons, if they can't stop these kind of players, their place is not in CL group stages. Also I remember how our well-known Serbian club Partisan embarassed Videoton with 4:0 last year in Hungary and the Hunagians were with all their main players including Lazovic and Scepovic. So, they are not so frightening club, I think Ferencvaros would be much tough task for Ludogorets if they were the Hungarian champions.
Anything than a home win for Ludogorets would be unbelievable for me. They are much better and with the new manager, who said he knows the opponent very well, I have no doubt Vidi will suffer a lot tomorrow. The match is in Ragzrad, not in Sofia, which is another bonus for the hosts and I strongly believe the home win will be with more than a goal advantage. 2:0 is my prediction for Ludogorets, mostly because it's expected to rain before and during the match and that's the reason not to expect more goals.
