Kukesi vs Valletta FC (By: Stanioooo)

Kukesi finished in the 2nd place in the Albanian Super league, only behind Skenderbeu. Their team is almost full of Albanian players with a few foreigners from Brazil, Georgia, Germany and Switzerland. That's good they rely on local players, not as much teams did to buy a lot of foreigners and to change most of them almost every single year like it is in big part of the Balkan countries. Last season they beat Sheriff Tiraspol 2:1 in Albania, although they lost the 2nd leg 1:0 and were eliminated. Their results in the last matches in Albania were not the best one and in the friendlies they played before this CL qualification match, but easy or hard I think they will prevail over the Maltese club in this tie and home win is absolutely required.

Valletta were not so convenient in their league. They won it with 3 points advantage of the 2nd team Balzan. I can't see any matches of the club since the beginning of May, which doesn't speak good for them. Their team is also short of players with only 16 available. Last season they were eliminated by Utrecht with 3:1 and I doubt they will take anything from Albania.

If I have to predict the final score, my pick will be 2:0 or 2:1 for Kukesi, but will take only the Albanians to win the match. Even not in thier best form, they have to beat Valletta at home.

for your information, Kukesi will have 6 new players in the starting line up, that never played before for the team. So its not a great example of consistency, they're also changing the roster every year, and dont forget they're not the domestic champions. It will be tough, dont risk your money on this one.

Maybe you are deeper with the situation with the club, but as I saw the team squad is almost all made by local players, so to change Albanians with other Albanians doesn't speak bad for the club. My point of view how you don't have to develop your team was to change local players with bunch of foreigners taken on loan from lower divisions in different leagues.

Still think Albanians are capable of winning this match.
