Cesena vs Cagliari by Enzo
Cesena had a difficult task last weekend away to Livorno, but still managed to get out with a point taken in a 1:1 draw. Overall, it was an equal performance from both sides, but the players of Cesena might have been a bit more concrete in offensive tasks then their opponents. They were also a bit punished by the referee who should have pointed out to a penalty spot during the first halftime.
Instead of it, they conceded a goal via set-play in 21st minute by Ceccherini to stand behind in the scoreline. From that moment on, visitors looked like better and more active side, getting the equalizer in the second halftime, in 56th minute via Kone. They even missed some good opportunities later on getting a point only in the end. Once again they showed that the team has problems at the back, allowing some more space to their opponents than they should, while the midfield and attacks work rather well. They are now on a streak of five matches without a defeat, three victories and two draws, which put them at fourth position, four points above out of play-off zone placed Brescia, which means that the team remains in a must win situation. Sidelined for this game are central defender Capelli (12/0), full back Perico (24/2), midfielder Cascione (18/1), all injured and striker Ragusa (25/6) who is suspended.
Cagliari, on the other side, welcomed Pescara last weekend and managed to take all three points, despite the fact that they stood back in the scoreline already in second minute with a goal from Torreira. Moreover, they were quite lucky not to concede the second goal, as their first halftime looked really disappointing and probably was one of the worst till now in the season.
However, everything changed for the better in the second half for them, since the team moved the ball much better managed to revert the scoreline in just seven minutes - thanks to goals from Farias and an own goal in 60th and 67th minute. Pescara had some decent chances further on, but the players of Cagliari still walked away with a three pointer, in not that convincing performance as probably a draw would have been much more fairer result. It was fifth consecutive victory for Caglairi, as the team now tops the table with five points more than Crotone and maybe more importantly, thirteen points more than third placed side. As for this game, they will miss midfielder Dessena (15/0), while outside are also full backs Ceppitelli (18/1), Capuano (9/0) and Balzano (16/1) and offensive midfielder Di Gennaro (22/3).
Cagliari might go into this one with a bit more relaxed approach, but they will surely be looking for yet another victory. Cesena will for sure try to attack and should cause many problems for the leaders, however remaining vulnerable at the back. Open game, quite attractive to watch too, with both teams looking for a victory and logical consequence, quite a few goals are expected. Therefore, I believe that the current odds are quite valuable.
