Celta vs Betis by Jimeno

Celta Vigo didn't look completely convincing in the first leg of quarterfinals of the Europa League against Genk at home, taking only a 3:2 victory and had to play quite difficult away game last Thursday evening in order to progress, but the Spaniards still managed to fight out 1:1 draw and progress to the semi-finals.

Final outcome from the second leg was completely deserved, since the teams shared both possession and chances, with Celta taking the lead in 63rd minute via Sisto, while hosts leveled up the result just four minutes later via Trossard. As for LaLiga, the side comes from a 3:0 victory away from home against Granada, as they played with a rotated squad that looked perfectly well since they played a bit more relaxed too. Celta remained at tenth position, having nine points less than sixth placed Bilbao.

Players from Vigo should be set in 4-2-3-1 formation with Beauvue as central striker and Bongonda, Jozadeb and Hjulsager as offensive midfielders. Striker John Guidetti is doubtful with illness and probably won't be risked for the whole time. Goalkeeper Ruben Blanco (11/0) and forward Giuseppe Rossi (18/4) are both injured and out.

After three consecutive defeats, against Villarreal, Espanyol and Las Palmas, Betis managed to get a 2:0 victory in front of own fans against Eibar last Saturday evening. The side isn't jeopardized with relegation battle, but a victory came in a decent momentum in order to boost their morale.

However, it needs to be said that the victory came in a bit lucky fashion, since the visitors from Eibar didn't look that poor either and had much more of the ball possession, however they conceded goals in very difficult momentum. Hosts opened the scoreline in second minute already via Martin, while Ceballos sealed the victory in 89th, even though the visitors replied with decent fight. Team is now at fifteenth position, but with eleven points more than relegating placed Gijon.

Players of Real Betis should be set in their typical 3-5-2 formation using Castro and Joaquin as forwards. Midfielder Jonas Martin (16/2) is suspended for this one, same as important central defender German Pezzella (31/1). Right back Cristiano Piccini and forward Antonio Sanabria are doubtful for this one.

  • Real Betis have lost 8 of their last 10 away matches (La Liga).

Even though Celta is coming from a difficult schedule, I still see them prevailing here with quite decent odds. No doubt that the hosts will be rotating the squad here, but the ones who'll be playing here will surely want to impress. Visitors haven't been up to the task on the road so far and I'm willing to risk the money here with Celta.
