Cardiff vs QPR by Shibby
Championship action today in a game that will be played at Cardiff City Stadium and will kick off at 15:00 (UK time). The game will be played between 17th placed Cardiff City and 9th Placed QPR.
The home side started the season with a 0-0 draw away at Birmingham City, which wasn't a bad point in all honesty, however, they then lost in a cup game on Tuesday night when the game finished 1-0 to Bristol Rovers (League One) as a goal in the 115th minute from Lines won the tie. Cardiff did play a semi decent team and therefore in my opinion should have progressed to the next round.
Cardiff did finish last season ok and missed out of a play off spot, this year I'm sure they would have been hoping for at least a play off place. Cardiff have not won in their last 4 games, I know that 2 of these have been friendlies, however, it still gets into the players heads.
Cardiff haven't brought in anyone special in my opinion and I don't think they will be a top 6 side this year, the Championship has some quality sides and I think they will struggle to dominate. Manager Paul Trollope has his work cut out.
The visitors on the other hand I think will have a far better season. I know there are some big clubs in this league, however, I think QPR under Jimmy Floyd Hasslebaink will have a good season. He took a while to get into the swing of things last season with QPR since his move from Burton, however, I think he has had time to shape the squad to more like what he would want. He's sold some of the bigger named players and I think that's a good thing.
I watched them against Leeds and although they didn't have any world beaters in the side, they looked impressive. They took the lead after just 4 minutes when Onuoha bagged a rare goal. A Cherry penalty and a late Poulter goal secure an impressive start to the season and saw them sit close to the top.
They also won their cup game which will have boosted confidence in the squad. I know the game ended 2-2, however, they did progress through to the next round which is all that matters. Jimmy did make a few changes to his starting XI so I expect there to be more changes for today's game.
I think that QPR have started the better of the two teams and I expect them to win the game, however, in-case Cardiff turn up and steal a draw I'll protect myself with the bet of QPR to win (DNB) at a huge price of 2.25 with BetVictor. Good luck all.
