Calgary vs St Louis by 20Legend
The Flames have struggled in the beginning of the season and took another loss when Carolina Hurricanes (2-4) came to visit last time out. The Hurricanes was give every chance to get the win though after being three goals up when the second period was about to finish. However, the Flames were able to respond twice, both at the end of the middle period and eight minutes into the last one. It gave the game some finish, but it was too late and Hurricanes managed to get their fourth of the evening just 30 seconds before the game finished.
It was the Flames’ fourth defeat in five games this season and it is not good enough for a team that is expected to reach the playoff this season. The team has an impressive line of offensive young talents as Johnny Gaudreau, Sam Bennet and Sean Monahan. However, these players have not stepped all the way forward so far, which has led to the Flames turning up with some anonymous results in their opening games. Former Blues goaltender Brian Elliot is expected to be the starting goaltender here, but he has to be frustrated with his stats so far with 4.72 GAA and a .839 SV%.
St.Louis Blues has started their season much better and led the Western Conference before facing Edmonton Oilers (3-1) in their last match. It was anything but an impressive game from the Blues who never found the offensive rhythm. It was especially depressing as Edmonton Oilers has been one of the most conceding teams so far. The Blues will certainly not be happy with the way they performed as the team is good enough to challenge for the Stanley Cup trophy this season. Jake Allen will be between the pipes here and he has a record of a 1.99 GAA and a .909 SV%.
These teams have got two way different starts to their campaigns, but this should be St. Louis Blues’ chance to strike back immediately. The Flames has struggled in both ends of the ice, while the Blues has made one error at this point. The Blues have also a great defense which means that it should be hard for the Flames to get their breakout tonight. I expect the Blues to rebound directly, but I find value on taking the draw no bet alternative.
