Cagliari vs Palermo by Enzo
Cagliari didn't do that bad in the previous game when they got defeated by Lazio away from home 4:1 as the final result shows. Of course, their hosts were far more concrete and active on the field, but the players of Cagliari also had their amount of chances and could have walked away with a bit better result.
Speaking about chances, they even missed a penalty during the game which could have improved their result, but the hosts were very concrete at the start of the game, taking the lead via Keita, while Immobile scored two more in 23rd and 28th minute (one from a penalty kick). Each team scored a goal towards the end of the game, Lazio via Anderson in 79th and Cagliari with an own goal from Wallace three minutes before the full time. With this defeat the team is at thirteenth position with same number of points, six more than relegating worried sides.
Home side will be playing in 4-3-1-2 formation with Sau and Borriello as strikers, plus Di Gennaro as offensive midfielder. Left full back Nicola Murru (10/0), as well as offensive midfielders Diego Farias (1/0), Joao Pedro (3/1) and Artur Ionita (3/0) are injured and out. Marco Borriello and Marco Sau are expected to start.
Palermo disappointed once again, this time in front of own fans against Udinese in a 1:3 defeat. Even though the things didn't start that bad for them, they actually took the lead in tenth minute with a goal from Nesterovski, it was soon enough known that the visiting side has plenty of more quality and that the result ain't gonna end in home team's favor.
Visitors leveled up the result in 36th minute with a goal from Thereau, but took complete control in the second halftime and managed to seal the victory with two goals from Fofana, in 74th and 79th minute. This was third consecutive defeat for Palermo, as the team continues to reside inside the relegation zone, with only six points earned so far, just a point more than rock bottom placed Crotone, but also a point less than safely placed Pescara.
Visitors should be playing in 4-2-3-1 formation with Nesterovski as central striker, plus Aleesami, Diamanti and Quaison as offensive midfielders. Forward Aleksandar Trajkovski is injured from the start of the season, with injured also being central defenders Giancarlo Gonzalez (4/0), Slobodan Rajkovic (3/0) and forward Norbert Balogh (4/0).
- Cagliari have scored at least 2 goals in their last 6 home matches (Serie A).
After three victories in a row, Cagliari suffered two defeats and are now close to a must win situation in order to recover their good atmosphere. The team can't wish for a much better opponent as they meet Palermo, team that didn't get a single point in last five matches. I give full advantage to the home team that remains way more quality in my eyes.
