Cagliari vs Bologna by DamirJ
Cagliari suffered 2:0 defeat in last weekend's game away to Lazio at "Olimpico", although they were the team that was better on the field in first thirty minutes. However, since than Lazio managed to get into the game slowly and with two goals at the beginning of the second half by Klose and Candreva, sealed another home victory, while Cagliari weren't able to respond later on in a proper way.
President Cellini expressed his disappointment with the performance of the team in Rome and everyone's position seems to be under question after the team slipped to 13th position and are only four points away from the relegation zone. Coach Diego Lopez has said that Bologna will come to defend tonight, but that his team only cares about themselves getting the three points. Also added that they are ready for the game, get the victory and leave the match against Lazio behind their backs.
Midfielder Ekdal (7/0) is injured and won't play, while right defender Perico (7/0) didn't recover after getting injured in a match against Lazio and maybe will be spared tonight in order to be fully fit for this weekend's game. Striker Sau (8/1) is also questionable and should also remain unused in tonight's game in order to recover from muscular injury.
Bologna is coming from their first victory this season, as the team prevailed at home over Livorno 1:0 with a goal from Crespo in third minute of the match. After the goal both teams lost several good opportunities, while the home side managed to keep their lead till the end of the match, even they were pushed really hard in some phases of the game.
Coach Stefano Pioli has said that his team has to show great determination, attention and to play as good as possible in order to stay undefeated away to Cagliari. Also added that he is only interested to get the points and not how the team plays, adding that most likely he won't change the team much and that the main weapon of Cagliari is their hot stadium and that the players are playing together for few years already. Probably their best player, captain midfielder Diamanti (9/3) is suspended for tonight's game and can't be substituted that easy, while the visitors will also be without left defender Cech (6/0) and forward Gimenez, who didn't perform this season yet.
Without Diamanti Bologna is losing most of their quality with is anyway rather low, especially when playing away from home. Home side is close to a must win situation after statements from their president and they should prevail in this game easy or not and are set as favorites rightfully.
