Cadiz vs Levante by Jimeno
Cadiz still has no victory in the new season, coming from a 3:2 defeat this time away to Mirandes last Saturday evening. They showed some decent fighting spirit during the match and have left the field with many complaints towards the arbitration for this game. The team has control over the ball and generally on the field, taking the double lead in the first halftime.
They were leading thanks to goals from Ortuno (8th minute) and Salvi (33rd minute), but three minutes later their player Santamaria had to leave the field getting the second yellow card, which the club of Cadiz strongly deny as rightful decision. Hosts exploited such situation and managed to completely revert the score, getting the 3:2 lead already after twenty minutes of play in the second halftime.
It was their first defeat after two league draws, while coach has said in the interview that the league matches are much more important than Copa del Rey competition, adding that they need to more focused on the league since they are newcomers. This surely means heavy rotation for tonight's game, but what's sure is that left full back Ruiz (2/0) and offensive Gaston Del Castillo (0/0) are sidelined with injuries. More than half of the team should be changed for this game.
Levante, on the other side, comes from a 1:1 draw away to Gimnastic Tarragona last Sunday evening, as both teams entered the game quite passively and were equal in the first halftime. They preceded via set-piece in 65th minute and were close to score the second goal as well, however conceded the equalizer from a free-kick five minutes before the full time whistle which left them with little time to respond again.
It was their first draw in the second after the team won over Numancia and Alcorcon, making a decent start for now. There's no doubt that getting back to Primera is their first target in the new season. However, the coach has said that they have enough deep roster in order to compete in Copa del Rey, adding that they want to move forward in the competition and that there's little quality difference between his basic lineup and the substitute players he has at his disposal. Visiting side won't be able to count at central defender Chema (3/1), midfielder Insa (3/0), goalkeeper Remiro (2/0) and winger Jason (3/1) will not be playing here. But more rotation is expected, while full back Avraam (3/0) remains doubtful.
Guests are surely having more quality in their substitute players and even though the draw can't be excluded, I see them here as much closer to get the victory. Just few months back, these two sides have played in two completely different leagues with huge quality difference.
