Bursaspor vs Genclerbirligi by Isaiah
Bursaspor had a difficult game last time out against Trabzonspor away from home and were set as underdogs, but still giving a good fight to the favorited team but in the end suffering narrow 1:0 loss thanks to a goal from Yazici in 51st minute.
Their hosts were better in the first halftime as well, however didn't do many concrete things in attack, while the visitors were set to a defensive role doing nothing in attack but staying well in the defensive line. Second halftime was more open, with the guests having nothing to risk in last fourty minutes, however the scoreline didn't change once Yazici scored.
Bursaspor is now at eight position, having six points less than fourth and Europa League placed Besiktas and surely seek a victory here, not only to improve on the standings but also to improve the morale since this was their second consecutive defeat.
Midfielders Bilal Kisa (2/0), Agu (11/2), Cristobal Jorquera (12/0) and forward Jires Kembo-Ekoko (12/3) remain injured. Central defender Ertugrul Ersoy (9/1) is suspended.
Genclerbirligi, on the other side, comes from a point taken in a home game against Kasimpasa last Saturday afternoon in a goalless game. However, must be said that they were far better than the opponents, but just the goal was missing in the end.
Especially their domination was obvious in the second halftime when the hosts really upped the tempo and missed some decent chances while the guests were more than happy with a point taken out.
The team now stands second from the bottom with just one victory in last eight matches in Super Lig, but also being undefeated in last three. Left back Halil Pehlivan (4/0), central defender Luccas Claro (7/0), offensive midfielder Marko Milinkovic (4/0) and forward Tokelo Rantie (6/0) are still all sidelined due injuries.
- Genclerbirligi have scored at least 2 goals in their last 5 matches against Bursaspor.
Genclerbirligi is showing some signs of live in previous rounds and that's why we have a bit better odds here. However, away from home they remain were unimpressive side so far and I can't see them pulling out something against way more individually quality Bursaspor.
