Burnley vs Stoke by Luke

Burnley made a great job last weekend when the side won narrowly at home over Watford 1:0 thanks to a goal from Arfield in 45th minute. Overall, they were better and deserved the three pointer, but the game was probably decided back in 39th minute when the visitors stood playing with a man less when Zeegelaar was red carded.

It was very important three pointer for them, since the team remained high at the table, now being at seventh position and having just two points less than fourth placed Liverpool for example as they continue to impress with 8-4-4 record for now.

Moreover, they are well above the relegation zone and for sure heading to a relaxed ending of the season. Hosts could be set playing in 4-4-1-1 formation with Wood as central striker, plus Hendrick as offensive midfielder.

Goalkeeper Tom Heaton (4/0) is injured, same as midfielder Robbie Brady (15/1) and offensive Jonathan Walters (2/0). Midfielder Dean Marney is still unfit coming from injury and anyway not performing this season. Central back Ben Mee (15/0) and right back Matthew Lowton (13/0) are doubtful.

Stoke, on the other side, comes from quite a difficult defeat last time out, as the side visited Tottenham and stood defeated with a 5:1 result on Saturday afternoon. Hosts were better in both halves, but the visitors managed to end the first halftime with just a one goal conceded via an own goal.

However, second halftime went with a worse way for them, as they conceded four more goals till 74th minute (two from Kane, one from Heung-Min and Eriksen), only managing to reduce the deficit in 80th minute with a goal from Shawcross.

Overall, it was pretty much deserved victory for the Spurs, while Stoke remains being just above the relegation zone being now at fifteenth position with three points more than relegating placed West Ham and just five more than rock bottom placed Crystal Palace.

Guests are set to play in 3-5-1-1 formation with Choupo-Moting as central striker, plus Shaqiri most likely as offensive support behind him. Midfielder Stephen Ireland is sidelined from the start of the season due injury, while out and injured is also center back Bruno Martins Indi (8/0). Forward Jese (9/1) is probably out due personal reasons.

  • Stoke have conceded at least 2 goals in 5 of their last 6 away matches (Premier League).

Stoke is actually not having problems creating chances and scoring goals, but their biggest errors come in the defensive lineup. They have scored in last five matches away from home and I definitely see them being dangerous once again, while the players of Burnley anyway remain slight favorite. My first betting option will be both teams scoring here.

Did you even watch any Stoke or Burnley match? I guess not coz this pick is obviously based on statistics.Stoke actually have problems scoring goals, many of them were pure luck. They have scored in last five matches, realy? And Burnley conceded only 3 in 8 home matches.Dyche created a defensive machine long time ago and only some magic by Shaqiri or Chuopo-Moting can change things, but very hard.Potters are relegation material and this will be probably Marks last game in charge.
