Brondby vs Esbjerg by Neuro
Brondby didn't manage to get their fourth consecutive victory last weekend away to Randers, but the team still stood undefeated for the seventh consecutive game. The result was 1:1, as Randers seemed a bit more threatening in the first halftime, finally getting the lead in 43rd minute via Fischer.
Brondby tried to respond in the repetition, but were only able to get an equalizer in second miute of additional time via Durmisi, in a bit lucky way. Anyhow, the team earned well their third position this season having much more improved performances in the second part of the season. They are six points above fourth placed Randers and got the European ticket, while the ambitions are much higher for the next season, with the team aiming the title, at least that's what the club's officials are saying. Coach Thomas Frank won't be able to count at midfielders Thomas Kahlenberg (21/2) and Ferhan Hasani (16/3), while they also miss Holmbert Aron Fridjonsson (11/1).
Esbjerg, on the other side, comes from a decent performance at home in a 2:1 victory against Vestsjaelland. Visitors went well into the game by taking the lead in 15th minute via Vellios, but the hosts replied with much better performance in the second halftime and finally took the victory in fifth minute of additional time.
Both goals were scored by van Buren and even though they were slightly better on the field, there is no doubt that the three pointer came in a lucky way since the second goal was scored so late. Anyhow, the team has secured participation in the next season's Superliga edition, playing without any competitive motive in this last round. Coach Niels Frederiksen won't be able to count at injured left back Jonas Knudsen (28/2), midfielder Jeppe Andersen (19/0), Kasper Nielsen (26/1) and Jerry Lucena (2/0). Dinally, they will also miss striker Mikkel Vestergaard (13/4).
Brondby is having much better form in recent months and with the prospect of aiming the title next season, there is no doubt that the team will want to finish this one with all three points and impressive performance. Visitors have nothing to play, miss couple of important players and surely shouldn't be able to cope completely with the home strength.
