Brest vs Niort by Isaiah
Brest comes from a defeat last weekend, as the team suffered 1:0 loss away to Troyes in rather unfair way this time. They were better from the start of the match, lost opportunities to score against Troyes whose players looked quite sluggish for the most of the time. However, they conceded an own goal, while also stood with a man less since 66th minute.
From that point till the end of the game, they continued attacking and looked better on the field, but the equalizer never came, however it was also more easier for the hosts to deny their attacks and keep the lead. Surely a draw would have been much more fair result by the performance of both teams. Coach was completely satisfied by the appearance of his players, saying that in case they continue to play in the same way as against Troyes, he has no doubts that the team will get the promotion eventually. After the defeat, they are now third at the standings still having the best defensive record conceding only ten goals so far. Hosts have few absences for this game, as they can't count at offensive midfielder Samassa (5/1) who wasn't playing for many previous weeks. Right midfielder Perez (18/1) is injured, while left defender Moimbe (15/1) remains suspended.
Niort only stayed to a 1:1 draw against Gazelec last weekend. Surprisingly, visitors took the lead in sixth minute but since then the players of Niort were the ones who pressed a lot for an equalizer. They were completely controlling the ball, missing many opportunities and only managed to equalize six minutes before the full time whistle.
Things to be even worse for Niort, their visitors were playing with a man less since 44th minute and with two players less since 75th minute due two red cards. There is no doubt that the victory for Niort would have been more fair result, as the team completely outplayed their opponent. They drew for the second consecutive league match, having only one defeat in last five games, but also only one victory. They are now only a point away from the dangerous zone, while the atmosphere remains unchanged there, being quite heavy still as their position is under constant danger. Right winger Ba (12/0) and striker Roye (15/1) are returning to team here, both coming from suspensions, so the coach will have full roster to chose from for tonight's game.
Brest is playing more than good football in front of their crowd, having the most reliable defensive lineup in the league. Niort didn't do bad in previous game, but it's hard to see them walking away with something here, while all the value remains with a home victory here.
