Brescia vs Como by Enzo
Brescia continues a free fall and they are in need of points at the moment. After the 2-2 to Ascoli they returned to defeats against Modena. They made an indifferent match with only a few phases in the second half and they lost 1-0. Shortly before the end of the game they had a shot to the bar but in the end they left the field with bowed heads.
The bad form of Brescia is now very extended, as from 17 of January they played five games in which they managed to get only a draw and four defeats. Anyway, in four of them they verified over 2.5 goals. Although they are in a poor condition and with low morale at the moment, there must be necessarily a win to recover and have chances for promotion. Today they have a good chance to win as they play against bottom placed Como. Andrea Caracciolo will play in attack, with Leonardo Morosini, Alex Geijo and Tomasz Kipisz behind him. Defenders Michele Somma (5 games), Edoardo Lancini (without participation) and Paolo Castellini (13 games) will all miss the game.
Como played away to Ascoli but did not succeed at all. After a first half with chances from both sides, Como were pressed a lot during whole second half, and eventually lost the game. They suffered lot of pressure, anyway they tried to react and made two important steps forward to score a goal, but the 1-0 stayed until the end.
This was the first defeat of Como after seven games and before this game they had four consecutive draws. With this result Como stayed at 21 points to the bottom of the league table and the first safe position is nine points away. Not a great distance, but for a team like Como this is enough. It is also worth noting that Como has not tasted the joy of victory in their last ten away games. Stefano Pettinari and Simone Ganz will play in attack. Only right midfielder Nicola Madonna (15 games) will miss the game.
Brescia maybe is out of form and lacking in morale, but they have a great opportunity to end the slump with a victory over bottom placed Como. I think that the odds represent value.
