Brann vs Bryne by 20Legend
Brann has performed superbly over their last ten games (6-4-0) before heading away from home to meet Ranheim (0-0) a week ago. It seems to be a lack of will to win the match as both teams created very little during the 90 minutes. Despite that drop of poins away from home, things have really gone well at home recently. Brann have 4-1-0 when looking at their last five game in front of their own fans, and their performances at home is a good reason why they are 3rd in the league at the moment with 7-3-1 to show for.
It is no doubt that Brann is fighting to get back in Tippeligaen where they belong. The first two positions on the table are withing range, but three points must be secured today. The reason is that 2nd placed Kristiansund (46 pts.) won their match against Jerv (0-1) yesterday, having a three points gap before Brann (43 pts.) is playing tonight. Fredrik Heggland (2/0) and Kenneth Udjus (9 games) are out for the rest of the season, while Eirik Birkelund (7/0) is out because of illness. Viljar Vevatne (2/0) is called up to the squad as a replacement. That means that Brann can use their best lineup available because none of the important players are missing.
Bryne (30 pts.) is in 10th place, and has had a rather negative curve lately with 2-2-6 to show for on their last ten games. it is also looking dangerous in terms of the relegation zone is closing in on them. With only four points down to Baerum (26 pts.) they must have more points in order to stay in the division next season. They have always struggled when playing away from home and this season is no exception with 3-3-6 to show for.
0-0-5 is the hard facts when you look at their latest five attempts away from home. After losing a quite close game against Sandnes (3-2), they have lost by at least two goals in four consecutive away games against 1st placed Sogndal (2-0), 15th placed Nest-Sotra (2-0), 5th placed Hodd (2-0) and 9th placed Fredrikstad (2-0). They have not informed of any injuries before tonight's match.
As usual at this stage of the season both clubs desperately need the points in each end of the table. Brann has definitely deserved to be favorites tonight with their strong form, especially at home. In addition to good form, Brann can go past Kristiansund on the table if they beat Bryne by at least a margin of two goals. With both form and that motivation in mind, Brann should be able to make this cover the (-1) handicap.
