Bournemouth vs Swansea by Shibby
Barclays Premier league action for me this weekend, the game will be played at the Vitality Stadium, Bournemouth. The kick off is 17:30 UK time and will be played between Bournemouth and Swansea City.
This game stands out to me for several reasons, the first is that they are both fighting for survival at the bottom of the premier league. The hosts are currently in 14th in the table, however, they are just 6 points clear of Hull City. Eddie Howe has managed to do a great job for the club and would be considered a legend at the club from his playing days to getting them in the Premier League and keeping them there. He has Bournemouth playing some very attractive football, which is great from neutral perspective, however, he must be concerned by their defensive record this season. Bournemouth fans have seen an incredible 94 goals this season from their 28 games, they have scored 40 and conceded 54.
They form of late has not been good, they went on an 8 game run without a win, this consisted of 5 defeats and 3 draws. Their last game saw an incredible 3-2 victory over West Ham United. A Josh King hatrick secured the 3 points for Bournemouth. There were also missed penalty chances which could have seen a higher goal tally!
The away team Swansea have also been revived by new manager Paul Clement! He has done a great job where ever he has managed if I'm being honest. When he was in charge of Derby he had them playing some good football and I recall him getting sacked while the club were in the play off places!! He has come in and Swansea now play a very attractive style like Bournemouth, they press the ball high and force the opposition into mistakes, however, this leaves them open at the back.
Swansea have had some great results at home lately, however, their away form hasn't resulted in many wins of ate. Their last 3 away games in the league has seen them lose all 3. The thing that stands out to me here is their ability to score goals. All 3 games has seen BTTS and at least over 2.5 goals. In fact, there has been at least over 2.5 goals scored in 15 of Swansea's last 16 league games!
Swansea, like the hosts, Bournemouth are towards the bottom of the league. They are just 3 points in front of Hull City, however, a win here could see them over take Leicester City and draw level with the hosts.
I think this will be a very entertaining game of football and I think we will see quite a few goals, therefore, I'l be backing over 2.5 goals at 1.77 with Marathonbet. Good Luck all.
