Bosnia vs Greece by Isaiah

Bosnia & Herzegovina had a decent start into the next qualifiers, as the team couldn't do much more in their defeat away to Belgium, taking a point away from home in Greece and now having a chance to establish themselves as second placed team in front of Greeks in case they obtain a victory at home Friday night.

Their latest qualifying game was back near the end of March when they hosted Gibraltar and took an easy and convincing 5:0 victory thanks to two goals from Ibisevic in the first halftime, while Vrsajevic, Visca and Bicakcic added one each in the second. Few days later, they played a friendly game away to Albania and won it with 2:1 result, goals from Dzeko and Lulic, using well mixed squad overall.

In comparison to previous call-ups, hosts won't be counting at defender Avdija Vrsaljevic (17/2, Osmanlispor), Sead Kolasinac (18/0, Arsenal), midfielder Izet Hajrovic (22/3, Werder Bremen) and forward Milan Djuric (14/7, Bristol City).

Greece, on the other side, started the qualifying campaign with three victories in a row, against less quality Cyprus, Estonia and Gibraltar, and although they expected to get a victory against Bosnia & Herzegovina, the team did improve themselves and their chances with a bit surprising draw on the road against Belgium 1:1 in the last round played.

In this way, they recovered their chances, but also improved the position and morale as the Belgians stand out as the strongest side in the group. It was also their last official game played, as the Greeks stood behind the ball and tried more via counter attacks, taking the lead in 46th minute via Mitroglou and then defending mostly, especially since 65th minute when Tachrsidis got red carded, while the hosts reached the equalizer deservedly in 89th minute via Lukaku. Greeks stood playing with two man less during the additional time when Tzavellas was also red carded and these two are suspended for this game. The side is now two points behind Belgium, a point above Bosnia & Herzergovina and can't afford to lose here.

Goalkeeper Panagiotis Glykos (5/0, PAOK) is injured for this one, but Orestis Karnezis would anyway remain first option. Defenders Giorgos Tzavellas (23/2, Alanyaspor), Kyriakos Papadopoulos (25/4, Hamburg), midfielders Andreas Samaris (28/1 Benfica), Panagiotis Tachtsidis (20/1, Cagliari) and forward Nikos Karelis (17/2) aren't in the squad for this one.

These two nations have already played their first game last year in Novemeber and must be said, Bosnia looked better in that one conceding the equalizer in fifth minute of additional time. Now with the Greek team missing two suspended players and with the help of their own fans, I would be really surprise to see anything but a home victory here.
