Bordeaux vs Marseille by Lucien

Bordeaux comes from a very difficult game played at home last weekend against Lens which they finally managed to win with a 2:1 result. They did had control over the ball, but were as creative as usually and Lens generally had no problems defending during the most of the game. However, everything worthy was seen in the last quarter of the game when all three goals were scored.

Hosts preceded, Lens equalized and looked like they could be the ones to score the second via counter attack as well, but when everyone thought the game is heading to a draw, hosts got the winner thanks to a poor defensive effort from the visiting side in third minute of additional time. Despite less quality performance, they managed to get a victory here, as the team has only one defeat in last twelve matches and is now just two points below St Etienne and European tickets. Today's game comes as a deciding one whether the team can involve themselves further into that battle or not, so no doubt that another victory simply has to be obligation for them. They still have many problems with injured players, missing eight now, two less than for the previous game. Main striker Cheick Diabate (15/8) is still sidelined, same as central defender Nicolas Pallois (27/0) and substitute goalkeeper Azbe Jug (2/0). Injured are also forward Jussie (no performance this season) and offensive Younes Kaabouni (12/0). Midfielder Clement Chantome (16/0) is suspended, while at least, one of the best players, Wahbi Kazri (midfielder, 25/8) is back in the team after serving suspension.

Marseille, on the other side, comes from a 2:3 defeat at home against PSG last weekend. It was a very entertaining match between two sides, with the highest football quality France can offer, but at the same time their defeat was quite deserved as it was obvious that the players of PSG are simply stronger, more experienced side at the moment.

Coach Bielsa even apologized to all their fans, saying that the team got deservedly defeated, but on the other side, he also stressed out that nothing was lost for his side, not even the title and that they continue in the same manner, searching for a title as an obtainable goal. Even though the title may already been lost, they surely will decide their future in today's game, as in case of a defeat today, they would even risk ending the season on a Champions League spot. Midfielder Gianneli Imbula (30/2) is back in the starting lineup after serving ban, while injured remain midfielder Abdel Barrada (9/1), absence that can be covered in their roster. Offensive midfielder Andre Ayew (22/7) is suspended.

Bordeaux are undefeated in their last 7 home matches against Marseille.
Marseille have scored at least 2 goals in 6 of their last 7 matches in Ligue 1.
There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 6 of Marseille's last 7 games in Ligue 1.

Both teams are in more than a must win situation and everything except a very open game would be a surprise for me here. Marseille is anyway known for their offensive approach, now when they need a victory badly, the game can only get extra attacking.
