Bordeaux vs Lyon by Lucien
Bordeaux comes from a pretty good performance last weekend when the side managed to take a three pointer away from home against Lille in a 2:3 victory. This was their second consecutive victory as the team previously comfortably won over Guingamp 3:0 at home, but their good run was continued during the midweek as well, since the team progressed further in French Cup competition into the quarterfinals with a 2:1 victory against Lorient at home.
Their game away to Lille was one of more interesting last weekend and even though players of Lille had a bit more of ball possession, it needs to be said that the players of Bordeaux looked much better, had much more chances created and more important, way more concrete in the final effort. They took the lead in 16th minute with a goal from Vada, while the second halftime brought a lot more excitement.
Lille managed to revert the scoreline within two minutes in the second part, in 66th minute with a penalty kick taken by De Preville and in next minute with the second goal scored by Eder. However, visitors were awarded for their fighting spirit in the last quarter and reached the victory thanks to goals from Ounas in 78th and 82nd minute. Bordeaux is now fifth at the table having four points less than Lyon and a victory here simply must be a target for them.
Hosts won't be able to count at forward Thomas Toure (6/0) and defenders Maxime Poundje (7/0) and important Youssouf Sabaly (21/0) due various injuries.
Lyon, on the other side, seems to have entered really decent period as well, as they really look like a quality side now, especially in offense with twenty goals scored in last four matches, two in Europa League both against AZ Alkmaar, against Dijon and Metz in front of own fans. Metz was crushed last weekend in a 5:0 victory without even showing all of their potential.
Obviously, it was their fourth consecutive victory in all competitions, as the side took the lead in 42nd minute with a goal from Depay, while the same player doubled up their lead in 53rd minute. Towards the end of the game players of Lyon had much more energy left and scored three times more, in 74th an own goal, in 78th minute via Lacazette and in second minute of additional time via Valbuena. Players of Lyon are at fourth position, being thirteen points below Champions League placed sides, but need to keep with positive results since they have plenty of angry followers.
Guests won't be having midfielder Maxime Gonalons (21/1) in the team with personal reasons, while doubtful is defender Jeremy Morel (22/0) but could be involved.
With both teams being in such a good offensive form, I can't see other outcome and other betting option for this match except goals and very open game. Lyon remains closer to the victory and are alone able to score three with the form they have, but Bordeaux is unpredictable and the option will be over 2.5 goals, without both teams scoring this time.
