Bordeaux vs Lille by Lucien
Bordeaux comes from a point taken away from home against Bastia 1:1 in a match played on Wednesday evening. Their opponents had more of the ball possession and chances created and the players of Bordeaux could be happy that the side walked away with a point taken.
Bastia took the lead in 49th minute with a goal from Bifouma, but the visitors replied in 77th via Laborde, having even chance to get something more, since Marange left the the field for the home team in 82nd minute and Bordeaux were playing with a man more last ten minutes. Still, it's not a negative result for them, since they remain undefeated in last seven matches in Ligue 1 and the team managed to reach the fifth position now, just a point below Europa League placed Lyon.
Bordeaux will be playing in 4-4-2 formation with Menez and Laborde set as strikers. Home team continues to miss offensive midfielder Nicolas Maurice-Belay (no performance so far), forward Thomas Toure (6/0) and goalkeeper Cedric Carrasso (8/0) due injuries. Doubtful is central defender Igot Lewczuk (9/1).
Lille, after four matches without a victory and without a goal scored, managed to get impressive performance and victory over Caen 4:2 on Tuesday evening. Their attacking trio worked perfectly well and managed to get the double lead inside first twenty-five minutes (Eder, Sliti), but the guests reduced few minutes later via Feret.
Lille continued being better in the second halftime as well and managed to seal the victory with two goals within two minutes (De Preville and Rony Lopes), while Rodelin only managed to reduce the deficit in the end via Rodelin. Lille is now just above the relegation zone having same number of points as red zone placed Caen, while the team needs to continue performing better and better in order to avoid relegation doubts. Their intermin coach probably won't remain at the helm even in case good results further on.
Visitors from Lille will be playing in 4-2-3-1 formation with Preville as central striker, plus Lopes, Benzia and Sliti as offensive midfielders. Midfielders Eric Bautheac (7/0) and Rio Mavuba (11/0) are injured, as well as forwards Yves Bissouma (7/0) and Ryan Mendes (7/0). Striker Eder (15/3) remains doubtful, same as central midfielder Younousse Sankhare (14/1). It will be difficult for their coach to change something after their positive performance last time out after so many weeks.
Bordeaux are now at fifth position with just a point less than Lyon, something that will keep them being motivated in every single game. Hosts are searching for a three pointer here and remain favorite, but visitors are coming from a morale boosting performance and seem to be able to keep up on the same level. Lille should be able to show at least some of the attacking potential and that should be enough to make the bet of both teams scoring here quite safe and valuable one.
