Bolton vs Gillingham by Shibby
League One action tomorrow night in a game that will see Bolton Wanderers host Gillingham. The game will be at the Macron Stadium and will kick off at 20:00. The hosts Bolton head into the clash in great form, they currently lie in 3rd in the league, however, they know that w victory here tonight will see them over take 2nd placed Sheffield United and close the gap to just 1 point on Scunthorpe.
Bolton have looked solid this term, they have conceded just 12 goals in their 20 league games so far. They haven't been scoring very freely, however, they seem to be getting the job done. Their last 4 games (league and cup) have ended in victory for Bolton. Their last 3 league games they have won to nil (vs Millwall, Coventry and Northampton). The only team to score against them recently was Sheffield United in the FA Cup, the game ended 3-1 to Bolton. All these wins in a row will no doubt boost confidence and I expect a home game, the fans will get behind them.
The visitors have scored a lot of goals this season, especially away from home. However, against a side that has conceded just 12 goals from 20 games I think will be a struggle. Gillingham lie in 16th in the table, however, only 6 points away from the play off places. So it is quite tight in this division.
Gillingham have quite an inconsistent run of late, they can't seem to string a few wins together. They either win or lose, they rarely draw a game lately. Their last 6 games has seen 4 wins and 2 defeats. Gillingham's form away from home in their last 7 games looks like this, 1 win, 1 draw and 5 defeats.
I do expect them to have a go, however, I think a strong, high on confident Bolton side should get the job done in front of their home fans. I also think the price of 1.77 for a Bolton victory looks good (with Marathonbet). Therefore, I will be backing that. Good luck all.
