Bologna vs Spal by Enzo
Bologna is having a decent start into the new season it could be said now, as the team stands for now at tenth position, with eight points more than relegating placed sides and it seems that they won't have much problems keeping their Serie A status. Must be said, it seems that their quality isn't that big, but simply there are teams way below them similar to the previous season.
The team looked really fine in last couple of weeks, firstly taking a point at home against Inter, but also winning two in a row, away from home against Sassuolo narrowly 1:0 and winning with the same scoreline in the most recent game, also on the road to Genoa. They were better than Sassuolo, but must be said, had some decent luck against Genoa, especially in the second halftime but managed to snatch the three pointer via Palacio's goal in 73rd minute.
Hosts continue to miss newly signed forward Cheik Keita who anyway didn't perform so far. Participation of defender Domenico Maietta (3/0), midfielder Ladislav Krejci (2/0) and forward Cesar Falletti (no performance so far) are questionable.
Spal, on the other side, managed to break their run of four consecutive defeats with a 1:1 draw at home against Crotone in the last Serie A round before the international break. They looked better than the opponent and even took the lead in 39th minute via Paloschi, but couldn't hold onto the lead, being leveled up in 59th via Simy.
Despite pressure from their side and better chances created, the scoreline didn't change. The team doesn't look that bad on the field and are actually playing decent football, but obviously lack some more experience in order to match the opponent in certain situations. Away from home the team managed to take a point so far in three rounds, but are yet to score surely being satisfied here with a point as well.
Visitors continue to miss experiences duo of attackers Sergio Floccari (2/0) and Marco Borriello (7/1).
- SPAL have failed to score in their last 3 away matches (Serie A).
After two consecutive victories, there is no doubt that Bologna goes for the third three pointer against a side that is a modest one and will probably be very close to the relegation battle at least. There's simply more individual quality but also experience with the players of Bologna.
