Bohemians vs Drogheda by Shibby
Irish Premier League action on 26/06/2015at the Dalymount Park (Dublin) in an 19:45kick off. Bohemians (5th) host Drogheda (8th).The game will be quite an open one in my opinion, the hosts Bohemians are chasing a top 3 spot and are just 3 points a-drift so I expect them to push for goals from the off-set.
So Bohemians head into this game in good form and on the back of a great 3-1 home victory vs Shamrock Rovers (3rd) so confidence will be high and another home game will no doubt be one that they will want to win. Their last game vs Shamrock was a great comeback, they actually trialled after just 9 minutes when Waters gave Shamrock an early lead. The game looked set to end like this, however, a late flurry of goals by Bohemians saw them come away with the full 3 points! They managed to score 3 goals in the last 14 minutes with substitute Kelly grabbing the last 2 goals! Bohemians have a decent record this season, they’ve managed to score 23 goals from their first 17 games, conceding 17 (they average more than a goal per game at each end).
Bohemians last 8 games has seen both teams score on 7 occasions, only 1 game ended 0-0. I think they are actually expected to win this game with the home advantage, however, I don’t see it being an easy game vs Drogheda.
Drogheda head into the also in good form, they currently lie in 8th in the league, however, they are only 1 point away from 6th place. So I expect them to want to avoid a defeat in this game. Their last 3 league games has seen them 2 wins and a draw 1. Like Bohemians, they too have seen both teams score in 4 of their last 6 outings. They also score/concede over a goal per game on average (F18 A27 from 17 games).
Drogheda may lose this game, however, I can see them starting well they’ve took the lead in 2 of their last 3 games so I expect them to try and get an early goal. Their last game was a 1-1 draw with Derry City, they didn’t play to their best, however, they did manage to finish the game and avoid defeat which is always a plus. Drogheda have a tough game vs top of the league Dundalk on 03/07/2015 which I suspect they won’t be too confident heading into, however, if they can get a result here vs Bohemians this could see their confidence boosted.
I think the game will be quite open with a few goals, I will be backing BTTS (Both Teams To Score) @ a price of 2.00 with Paddy Power. Good luck all.
