Bochum vs Nurnberg by Gustav
Bochum was one of the strongest teams in previous 2. Bundesliga and the team had ambitions to make a step further this season and improve their chances of playing in the first tier of German football next season, but the new one didn't start that well for them. After four matches played, they have only one victory, two draws and a defeat, being without a victory in last three rounds.
In the most recent game, they suffered first defeat of the season when the team lost to newly promoted Wurzburger Kickers 2:0 last weekend away from home. However, it needs to be said that the visiting side had much more of the ball possession, but paid the price of not being concrete in the final effort in front of opponent's goal. On the other side, hosts looked deadly on counter attacks and exploited that with two goals in the second halftime despite domination from players of Bochum.
Hosts won't be able to count at defenders Wydra, Hoogland and Fabian, all three sidelined from the start of the season with injuries.
Nurnberg, on the other side, is having even worse start as not many of the fans could imagine them with only two points out of first four rounds played. They ended up the previous season at third position in this league, having two points less than directly promoted RB Leipzig, losing in play-off stage against Eintracht Frankfurt later on.
Having that in mind, everyone looked them at the beginning of the season as one of the favorites for promotion, but the team plays far away from that standard for now. They played solid during the friendlies, but the team is yet to show their ability in the regular season. Most recently, they suffered 1:2 defeat at home against Munich 1960 and are now desperate to improve while the outcome of the previous game was influenced with the fact that they played with a man less since 73rd minute.
Forward Burgstaller (4/2) is suspended for this game after he received red card in the previous game last weekend, while the guests also can't count at first choice goalkeeper Schafer (3/0), but also defender Margreitter (2/0) and midfielders, Gislason (1/0), Evseev (0/0) and Erras (0/0).
Both teams till enter this game in order to win, no doubt about that. Bochum remains slightly more quality side in my eyes, but the first option for me will be betting on goals, since I believe that Nurnberg will be trying to respond and attack from the start of the game, having nothing to wait for. Bochum, on the other side is also able to score, maybe even three alone, but their defense is far away from a reliable one.
