Bochum vs Dusseldorf by Gustav
Bochum drew 1:1 away from home against Sandhausen last weekend, even though they opened the game with a goal in fourth minute from a penalty kick taken by Bastians. The team looked quite passive, tried to play on counter attacks only, were under pressure many times from their hosts and finally conceded the equalizer near the end of the first halftime with a goal from Wooten, also scored via penalty kick.
Second halftime was quite balanced without many offensive phases from neither of the teams as they both looked more passive as the game was approaching it's end, taking a deserved point each in completely fair outcome. With this result, Bochum continued their great form early in the season, despite suffering first loss of points - they still played against tough opponent. Still undefeated in the league with five victories and a draw, they surely want to continue with positive performances in front of own fans, but now need to show character and bounce back after the momentum of victories has stopped. Defensive midfielder Tobias Weis (2/0) got injured and will miss his second consecutive game, while sidelined with injury is also long term absentee, right midfielder Selim Gunduz (with no performance this season).
Fortuna Dusseldorf, on the other side, comes from a 3:0 victory at home against Munich 1860 last weekend. It was one of the better performances of the team, since they took a strong start from the first minute, opened the scoreline in ninth minute via Bebou and doubled up the lead in 30th with a goal from Ya Konan, absolutely ruling the game till the end of it, however slowing down the tempo a little in the second halftime.
Victory was sealed with the second goal from Ya Konan as the team of coach Kramer reached their first victory in the new season. Surely that a three pointer improved the atmosphere inside their locker room, while coach Kramer pointed out that despite victory, they still have a lot things to correct and that another victory won't come that easily. With only four points out of six matches played, they are just outside the relegation zone and need to continue with positive results in order to detach themselves from the dangerous part of the table. Substitute midfielder Christian Gartner is still sidelined, but also without a playing minute this season. Offensive midfielder Mathis Bolly (5/2) is also injured, same as defensive midfielders Christopher Avevor and Sergio Da Silva Pinto, both unavailable from the previous season.
Bochum will surely have the ball possession, while Fortuna will opt for counter attacks, having that in mind, hosts should dominate the game from the start and therefore, take an easy or hard victory. It will be tough for the visitors to keep the clean sheet and stay competitive in the game for the whole ninety minutes.
