Blackpool vs Millwall by Isaiah
Blackpool most recent result for the Championship was a draw at home against Rotherham with the score of 1:1, a result which undoubtedly was more positive for Blackpool just for the fact that Rotherham was better in most of the match, had the lead amd lost opportunities including a penalty in the first half. However Rotherham failed to score a second goal to clean the game and Blackpool managed to score the equalizer six minutes before full time.
On Sunday Blackpool faced Aston Villa away from home for the FA Cup, and although they fought a lot for the draw, Aston Villa found the way to score the winner two minutes before full time. Anyway their minds is in the Championship as the game against Millwall is one of the most important game in the season for them in the relegation battle. Blackpool signed two defenders, Darren O'Dea (Metalurg D.) and Grant Hall (Tottenham) and both players are ready to participate, while defender Gary MacKenzie defensive midfielder Jose Miguel Cubero will again miss due to injuries.
Bournemouth had no troubles to get all three points in London against Millwall (0:2). The game was decided in the first half where Bournemouth won a penalty, while three minutes before half time they had a two goal lead. Despite the valiant efforts of Millwall, nothing changed in the second half, and everything was decided when Millwall received a red card.
For the FA Cup, Millwall found it again difficult against Bradford (League One). Despite the league difference they were unable to keep their defense solid and received three goals (3:3). At least they managed to avoid the defeat and this score sends the match to replay, which will be held next Wednesday. However, to the league Millwall is now under the relegation zone, and of course their priority should be the game away to Blackpool.
Millwall signed three players to help them to avoid relegation, Left back Dan Harding from Nottingham, Right winger Paris Cowan-Hall from Wycombe and striker Stefan Maierhofer who had no team so far. Right back Andy Wilkinson is doubtful to play, while defender Shaun William is suspended. Paris Cowan-Hall and Dan Harding are included to the squad for today's game.
This is a crucial match for the relegation battle since both teams are very low in the Championship standings. Blackpool has a good head to head record against Millwall but has no other option than to attack, as this may be their last chance to come closer to the teams above them in the standings. I think that this game will be more likely an open one, so the value is on goals.
