Blackburn Rovers vs Millwall by Vicked

Today we have in England Championship game between Blackburn Rovers and Millwall. While the season is closing to the end there is still lot in the game. Millwall is still fighting against relegation, and today they will have to fight to the bare end.

Blackburn is close to achieve their campaign targets, they were aiming to finish to top10 and it’s quite close now. At the moment they are in 9th place with 60points without no pressure either to promotion or relegation after the three last games they have played has ended as draw. Of course to stay in the top 10 they still need to find some points because there is at the 10th , 11th and 12th placed Charlton, Nottingham and Sheffield Wed breathing to Rovers neck with 60 and 59points. The last game against Nottingham Forest was a real scoring contest while there was bagged six goals in the 3-3 draw. Manager Bowyer was furious to the teams defense and there was almost a one guy who was giving as much as they should, Rudy Gestede who scored a hattrick. With those goals Gestede is only one goal behind the team’s top scorer Jordan Rhodes who has bagged 18 goals so far. Today we might see some rotation in the squad after the Nottingham game, because the only substitution of them came in added time. For example Paul Taylor and Chris Brown might rest from the starting eleven today, while there is a chance to Jay Spearing to make the comeback into the midfield.

Millwall is still fighting against relegation, from last six points available they managed to collect four of them. Form of MIllwall has been quite good while in last five games they have lost only once and were able to won twice and draw twice, so at the moment they are still in the last relegation spot 22th with 40points and four points behind Rotherham who is at 21th place with 44points. 4points difference is quite much while the season is so close to end, there still is a some chances for Millwall while their rivals has something going on outside of the field. Rotherham United have been charged by the League for ineligible player. Rotherham are charged about breaking the rules in the game against Brighton, Farrend Rawson who is loan from Derby played 90minutes and there some confusion about he’s eligible. If they are found guilty for breaking the rules the rules, that 1-0 win might be changed to 0-3, if that happens there is the chance that Millwall needs to go past the Rotherham, that also will need points form the games against Rovers today and Norwich on Saturday otherwise they are doomed no matter what is the result with the Rotherham charges. Shaun Williams will be missing the game for sure, he has been ruled out for the rest of the season. Also Shaun Cummings is a doubt, but the game might come too soon after the groin injury. Ed Upson is suffering the last from his two game ban.

So with this game, there is two teams who both needs points to achieve their targets, still I belief that there will be better motivation with Millwall, fighting against the relegation than with Blackburn to fight for the top10 positions while they still aren’t going nowhere from the league. There is also that fact that Rovers at home has been quite out of form, in last 5 home games they have won only one against Bolton, after that they have lost three times and then there is the 3-3 draw against Nottingham. Also Millwall has struggled in away games, but after a three straight loss they have started to fight for the points and has stolen a point from Cardiff and Brentford. I belief that today’s game will be a close and low scoring, even though Blackburn has two hot strikers, Millwall can overshadow them with solid defense. Also after the 3-3 played at home against Nottingham Rovers might concentrate more to the defense. But today I’m choosing the double result besides the under, with the motivated away team I see some value in the x2 with odds 1.8.
