Birmingham vs Bristol City by Shibby
Championship action again for me. Today's clash will be played at St. Andrew's in Birmingham and will see Birmingham host Bristol City in a 15:00 kick off. For some reason I really fancy Birmingham to have a good season, they seem to have started pretty well and remain unbeaten this season so far. Their stats currently stand at P6 W4 D2 (this is based on league and cup games). As far as league form goes, Birmingham have won 2 and drawn 2.
Their last 2 competitive games has seen Birmingham win both 2-0, they beat Gillingham 2-0 in the cup and then followed that up with a great 2-0 victory away at MK Dons. 2 second half goals from Gleeson and Maghoma were enough to earn manager Rowett all 3 points. Birmingham currently sit in 7th in the league on 8 points, however, they have a game in hand over other teams in and around the top so can move up to 2nd with a win. I have a feeling they will be in and around the play off places come the end of the season. One of the most positive things surrounding Birmingham was their ability to keep hold of Gray. There was a lot of interest sounding Gray during the transfer window, so I'm surprised that he's stayed, however, this is great news for Birmingham and shows their powers when it comes to holding onto quality players.
The visitors for the game Bristol City are new to the Championship after they won League One last season. Manager Cotterill has done a good job considering they haven't had a huge amount to spend, they have managed to bring in a few new faces on loan and I'm sure these will fit straight into the team (Baker, Moore).
Their form hasn't been too bad this season, they currently lie in 20th place with 4 points from 5 games. They've managed just 1 win so far and that was an impressive 1-0 victory away at Middlesbrough. Other away games this season has seen them lose 2 vs Sheffield Wednesday and vs League Two side Luton in the cup, so not great away from home.
I don't see this being an easy game for Birmingham, however, I think they will have enough to win this game. For security and to eliminate the draw I'll be backing Birmingham win DNB @ a great price of 1.80 with BetVictor. Good Luck all.
