Benevento vs Pisa by Enzo
Benevento made a setback last time out, as the team suffered 3:2 defeat last weekend away to Frosinone. It was their first defeat after eight consecutive matches in Serie B (five victories and three draws), as the team paid the price of quite week defensive efforts in that clash.
They actually created more and looked more dangerous, but as said, defensive setbacks made them paid the price, as the team stood behind in the scoreline in 27th minute with a goal from Kragl, but managed to respond in 52nd via Lucioni, however stood behind again eight minutes later via Dionidi, managing to respond again in 73rd from a penalty kick taken by Ceravolo. Even though they tried to score the winner, home team was more lucky side and scored the third goal in fifth minute of additional time. Benevento is now fourth at the table, having five points less than second placed Frosinone and need to react here, being also five points above ninth placed Bari that is placed below the play-off positions.
Pisa, on the other side, comes from a goalless draw at home against Spezia six days ago, in quite a defensive game from both sides. Still, it needs to be said that the players of Spezia still did have a bit more of the ball possession and did created some chances, while the home team stood quite passive and did close to nothing for all ninety minutes in offense.
This was fourth consecutive match in Serie B for Pisa that the team didn't get the victory, fifth official, as they remain inside the relegation zone, currently being placed at eighteenth position which leads to the play-out rounds. They have twenty-one point earned in twenty matches, being the by far the worst attacking team in the league with only seven goals scored, but also having the best defensive lineup with only eleven conceded goals. Away from home they have 0-6-4 record with just two scored and seven conceded goals. Defensive midfielder Francesco Di Tacchio (16/0) is suspended, while the guests continue to miss midfielder Georgios Makris (no performance so far) and striker Diego Frugoli (also who didn't perform).
It won't be that easy for Benevento to break the defense of the visiting team, but I see them getting a victory here. On the other side, it should be close to not possible for Pisa to create something more meaningful in attack here. Benevento looks to strong at home during all season for sides of potential like Pisa.
