Belenenses vs Ferreira by Jimeno
Players of Belenenses were complete underdogs in previous round last weekend when the side visited Sporting, but they still managed to give a real good fight and in the end, left the field probably pleased, but still defeated narrowly with a 1:0 result. Only goal was scored in 12th minute from the penalty kick taken by Dost, while with exception of more ball possession for the home team, the game itself looked pretty much as a balanced one.
Players of Belenenses had their decent number of chances, but it's probably due the fact that the players of Sporting were satisfied with the lead and didn't want to lose too much energy chasing the second goal. However, this was third consecutive defeat for Belenenses, as the side now dropped down to tenth position at the table, but still with more than solid eight points difference to relegating placed sides - however surely that they will be aiming for a three pointer here since it would boost their morale for further games.
Midfielder Merlin Tandjigora (8/1) is injured for this one, while doubtful remain defenders Vincent Sasso (4/0) and defender Joao Diogo who anyway didn't play this season at all.
Ferreira, on the other side, was also underdog last time out when the side visited Braga and stood defeated with a 3:0 result. Even though Braga was better from the beginning, they actually stood well on the field and looked rock solid in the defense, but everything changed in 64th minute when Da Silva got red carded.
It was simply too much for them to put up with the pressure with a man less, as the hosts quickly scored first goal, in 69th minute via Vianna, but added two more till the end, thanks to Horta and Sousa. This was third consecutive defeat for Pacos Ferreira too, as the side now stands at fourteenth position with just four points more than relegating worried sides. Away from home they have just one point earned out of seven matches and surely can't hope for much here.
Left back Filipe Ferreira (3/0) is injured, same as defender Hector Quinones (2/0). Midfielder Andre Leao (11/0) and defensive midfielder Mateus da Silva (8/0) won't play due suspension.
- Pacos de Ferreira have conceded at least 2 goals in their last 6 away matches (Liga NOS).
Both teams are actually coming from three consecutive defeats, however I have no doubts that the players of Belenenses will react better in this one. They are playing more than well in front of own fans this season and their previous home loss to Chaves was more than undeserved. Hosts should react here well.
