Baerum vs Nest-Sotra by 20Legend
Baerum is one of the teams that are struggling for their existence in OBOS-Ligaen next season. They have been delivering terrible results almost all season and only got 23 points in 24 games so far. It is already five points up to the secure spot that currently belongs to Asane. It does not look to be any chance of survival when Baerum has not won a match since the end of May. 0-3-10 is the dreadful facts and it does not help that they are often involved in games with a lot of goals both ways. They have to find a way out very quickly with six games remaining and a long way up to Asane. They last game was actually away against Asane (5-0) and it was another dreadful match. It may be too late for them since Asane was the team to beat in order to stay in touch of their safe-spot, but Baerum was miles away from challenging them at all. Asane has been taken some very important points in their last seven games which 3-3-1 gives the impression of as well. Asane controlled everything in the match against Baerum and it was only right that the score was 5-0.
It seems like Baerum has lost all their courage that they usually have when playing matches. Their squad is a mix of young talents and more experienced players, but it seems like the low confidence has reached both young and old ones now. It does not help the situation that Andreas Aalbu, who has played in Baerum for 13 years, signed for Fredrikstad a couple of weeks back. The 25-year old has obviously been in the club all his life, and was one of the leaders in the group, despite that he was not the oldest player on the team. His passing skills will truly be missed, but others have to step forward.
Nest-Sotra is not in any better position at all as they are actually in 15th place with 21 points, two points behind today’s opponent. After a pretty good period including two wins back-to-back, the defeats have come three times in a row now. However, they showed very good signs during their last match against Sandnes Ulf (2-3). They managed to be tight defensively in the 1st half and kept the score 0-0. The 2nd half exploded with five goals, but started badly for Nest-Sotra who gave away a penalty in the 57th minute, 0-1. They needed 12 minutes in order to make it 1-1, before giving away yet another penalty after 80 minutes played, 1-2. It looked like one point was secured when they fought back once again after 88 minutes; 2-2. However, it all went as it usually does for teams that struggle. A goal in the 92nd minute made it another defeat for them, and it looks almost impossible with seven points to catch in six remaining games. Still they cannot give up before it is too late.
This match is simply deciding one of the team’s destinies in the way it looks at the current moment. Only three points is good enough and especially for Nest-Sotra that are two points behind Asane. No matter which team that scores the first goal, it automatically means that the other team must go for a more attacking approach, making a lot of space for the other team to counter-attack. All of their five meetings since 2010 has ended over 2.5 goals, including both meetings last season in Baerum’s favor (2-1 and 1-2), while their first meeting this season also ended with Baerum winning 2-1. Neither of the teams have reported on any injuries, as nothing shall be revealed before this important clash of existence. Over 2.5 goals should be a highly likely scenario this afternoon.
