Auxerre vs Lens by Lucien
Auxerre didn't have that difficult on the road last weekend in Coupe de France match, when the team won over amateur side Semin du Bois 4:1. However, the things didn't start that bright for them, since the hosts took the lead in fourteenth minute with a goal from Romagnon, but the guests soon took over the control of the ball and leveled up with a goal from Courtet in 43rd minute.
They remained being better for the most of the second halftime, but only could convert the chances into goals in last ten minutes of it, when the team deservedly dominated with another goal from Courtet, but also with goals from Konate and Montiel. It was a good way for them to improve the atmosphere, but the team awaits much more difficult task now in Ligue 2, as they come from a run of four negative results, three defeats and a draw and three matches without a goal scored. At the moment, they are at the rock bottom placed position, with only ten points earned so far - still just a point below safely placed Orleans.
Lens also had an easy game in the Cup competition last weekend, as the team won over Marcq en Baroeui away from 3:0. They were controlling the game and the ball from the first minute, but were only able to score goals in last twenty five minutes of the game - via Bourigeaud in 66th minute and twice via Zoubir, in 71st and 90th minute.
Lens is not doing that bad in Ligue 2 either, as the team comes from third game without a defeat, taking a point in a home match against AC Ajaccio, even though they were obviously a better side. After this match, Lens stands at sixth position with five victories, seven draws and only two defeats, being three points behind third placed Le Havre and close to a must win situation here.
Auxerre really showed close to nothing this season and I can't see them being victorious here. Lens is far better side this season, having much more potential and surely better individuals and even though the draw can't be completely excluded, I see much bigger chance for Lens to come out celebrating here.
