Auxerre vs GFC Ajaccio by Lucien
After a pretty poor start of the season, players of Auxerre are in a decent form now, coming into this match being on a run of six matches without defeat during which they count four victories and just two draws. Such a good run saw them climbing at 12th position and the team surely wants to keep up the momentum and gets into the upper part of the table as soon as possible.
In the most recent game however they didn't manage to obtain all three points, as the team comes from from a 1:1 draw away to Bourg Peronnas last Friday evening. They had more of the ball possession and more chances, but the hosts were concrete as well, opening the scoreline in 52nd via Boussaha, but the visitors replied in 69th via Sane in overall quite an equal match. Auxeere has three consecutive victories in front of own fans and surely that only a win here would be a positive outcome for them.
Home team continues to miss offensive midfielder Mickael Barreto who anyway didn't perform so far being a long term absentee.
GFC Ajaccio, on the other side, were slight favorites in their game last weekend in front of own fans, but the side took just a point in a goalless draw match against Paris FC. Overall, it must be said that the game was more open than what the final result shows, but the goals never came, with the visiting side doing bit more conrete things on the field, however without a scoreline change.
This was second game without a victory for GFC Ajaccio as the side previously lost local derby game against AC Ajaccio away from home 2:0, as they now stand at fifteenth position with sixteen points earned - six more than relegating placed Lens. On the road the side has only one goal scored and a 0-2-4 record for now.
Once again, I will be going with the home team and against the visitors from GFC Ajaccio. They simply don't inspite with confidence on the road and in attack overall and only way for them to walk away with something is probably to keep the clean sheet. However, I don't see it happening against in-form Auxerre.
