Auxerre vs CA Bastia by Sunshine
Auxerre is coming from a 2:0 defeat away to Angers on last Friday night as the final result represents totally fair picture of the match overall. Home side was simply superior in comparison to Auxerre and put them under pressure in both halftimes, while the team of Cassoni threatened in low number of occasions and were once again below expected.
With this defeat, they are now counting three matches without a victory, while the team has 1-4-2 record in first seven rounds and are close to relegating positions. In front of the match against CA Bastia, everyone expects a victory as the team has to go back to the winning ways sooner or later. Young striker Ntep (6/2) reacted badly after being substituted in the previous game and his participation in this match is questionable at the moment, as his reaction has drawn a lot of attention to Auxerre roster in previous couple of days. Midfielder Haddad (no participation this season) is still out injured from the previous season, is the only sure absentee for tonight's game so the team of home side is actually complete for tonight's clash.
CA Bastia visited Brest on the Friday night, while everything was decided in first six minutes of the game. Home side entered the match very strongly and with two goals in fifth and sixth minute, they had a 2:0 lead that didn't change till the end of the match, while the visitors from Bastia were unable to threaten during whole ninety minutes.
It's obvious that the team is simply low in quality when speaking about Ligue 2 and that they will have a lot of tough time in matches to come. At least it seems that they have accepted this even before the start of the season and there is no particular reason to moan now over their destiny. After seven rounds, they have three draws and four defeats, scoring only three goals till now, which seems one of their biggest worries. Unless something changes dramatically in next months, they will be sure candidates to relegate back to the third league. Under such conditions, their atmosphere can't be very good, while the team will miss irreplaceable midfielder Marty (5/0), also missing out defensive Romey (5/0) and midfielders Grimaldi (6/1) and N'Diaye (5/0).
It's about time for Auxerre to get awaken, while there is no better side than CA Bastia to play with right now. Guests are showing not to be capable of playing in the second league and easy victory for the home side is expected against clueless in attack visitors who miss few their important players.
