Austria vs Holland by 20Legend

After cruising through the qualification towards Euro 2016 in France, Austria has now reached their last game before it all kicks off in a week. David Alaba and the other players won their qualification group in an impressive way with 28 of 30 possible points taken. Theuy finished 1st in their group ahead of both Russia and Sweden with 9-1-0 to show for. On their last seven games it has resulted in 5-0-2.

They beat Malta (2-1) earlier this weekend, but lost to Turkey previous to that. They have been selected into a very difficult group in France this summer with Iceland, Portugal and Hungary as their opponents. Portugal is big favorites, but it is a pretty much open group otherwise which should mean that Austria could have a chance if they are able to continue their achievements from the qualification. Austria has confirmed their squad for the Euros earlier this week that contains several known names of international class with David Alaba (Bayern Munich) as the biggest one.

Possible Austria line-up: Ozcan, Klein, Fuchs, Hinteregger, Dragovic, Alaba, Baumgartlinger, Arnautovic, Junuzovic, Harnik, Janko

Netherlands was one of the qualifications biggest disappointments as they only finished in 5th place in their group. Turkey, Iceland and Czech Republic all finished ahead of them while Netherlands only grabbed 13 points from their 10 games. That means no Euro 2016 for Netherlands which is disappointing for both them and the spectators off course. Netherlands has a record of 4-1-2 from their last seven games. Their last two games have given them 1-1-0 though with a win against Poland and a draw against Ireland.

Daley Blind will miss the game, while Jetro Willems is doubtful due to a minor knock. Midfielder Kevin Strootman is expected to return to the starting lineup. Possible linup Netherlands: Cillessen, Tete, van Aanholt, Bruma, van Dijk, Strootman, Bazoer, Wijnaldum, Promes, Berghuis, Janssen.

It is two teams with a different schedule to look forward to that are meeting tonight. Austria is only days away from their big tournament, while Netherlands must look for the WC-qualification to begin in September. I clearly think that Austria is looking for a boost of confidence in their last game of preparation here, while Netherlands have got the statistics on their side against Austria, with 4-0-0 to show for from the last four meetings. Austria is off course the favorites tonight, but Netherlands also have enough quality to put up a good fight here. With two teams that are able to score here, I expect over 2.5 goals to be an interesting scenario.
