Atletico Madrid vs Valencia by Neuro
Atletico Madrid gave a pretty good game to Barcelona at home on Saturday evening, despite the fact that they didn't have much of the ball possession. Still, it's a positive result as they played against one of the strongest sides in the World, while the team kept their chances of winning the title this season.
With this draw behind their back, they continued being tied with Barcelona at the first position with 16-2-1 record, while Real Madrid keeps following them with three points difference. That was their second consecutive draw, as Atletico previously drew 1:1 on the road against Valencia in the first leg of Copa del Rey and now have a perfect chance of reaching the quarterfinals stage. No doubt that the target of the team is trying to reach the title in every possible competition, including this one. Home side coach Simeone has no particular injury worries for this game as Suarez got back to the full trainings and could get a place on the bench, while the only concern is fitness of Tiago (14/2) who is coming from ankle injury and is still not fully fit.
Valencia, on the other side, is coming from a disappointing loss to Celta 2:1 on the road, even though they had a 1:0 lead from 23rd minute with a goal from Parejo that they have kept till the halftime whistle. However, second half changed all as the hosts completely changed their tactics and managed to score two goals with many more concrete chances created.
That loss is more disappointing as it seems that the squad didn't bounce back in a positive way since the coach Djukic got sacked and it seems that Valencia simply can't find their right rhythm this season. Their position at the table isn't at satisfying level as the team is already eight points below the European Cups ticket and are also seeing this Cup game as a chance to get the ticket more easily. Visitors will be without Ruiz (defender, 9/1) and Mathieu (defender, 17/1) who were both knocked out from the pitch in a game in Vigo, while midfielder Banega returns back to the starting lineup after recovering from injury.
Valencia will have to attack here sooner or later and whenever they do that, it's hard to see them remaining confident at the back. Atletico has simply showed much more this season and everything except them dominating this game would be a huge surprise. Whenever they score, the game will additionally open up and everything except easy qualification will be surprising here.
