Atheltic Bilbao vs Elche by Neuro
Atheltic Bilbao almost already secured their participation in the next stage of Copa del Rey, as the team surprisingly won on the road against Celta Vigo 4:2. From the first moment they were much more concrete on the field and simply knew what they wanted in comparison to the hosts who are nowhere close their good form from earlier this season.
This victory in Copa del Rey broke a mini streak of two defeats previously in Primera, as the team got defeated to Deportivo La Coruna away from home and at home against anyway much more superior Atletico Madrid. Following two defeats, they remained at the middle of the table but this time, they are no far away from the European positions - still however, only five points away from the relegating places. Probably two most important players for the home team - Aritz Aduriz and Iker Muniain missed out last week through suspension, but are now returning to the starting lineup being also a bit more fresh. Home team has no fresh injury or suspension worry, except of substitute midfielder Ager Aketxe (3/0) and forward Guillermo (10/1), both being doubtful.
Elche, on the other side, didn't have much chances of getting the positive score in their Copa del Rey game, as the team faced up against Barcelona away from home on Thursday night. They were easily trashed with 5:0 defeat, result that stood from 60th minute and could have easily been greater in last third of the match.
Getting back to league duties, Elche continues to struggle being currently at rock bottom position in the league with only eleven points earned so far. They are five points below the safe zone and their primary goal would be to keep the race open, so the team doesn't relegate already after next ten matches or so. Biggest problem remains in the defense as the team has weakest defensive line with 34 goals conceded so far. Defensive midfielder Jose Angel (7/0) remains questionable before the game, while Enzo Roco and Sergio Pelegrin will both be available for this match after recovering from injuries.
After a morale boosting victory in Cup competition, Bilbao should finally star getting positive results at home as well. They have every chance to walk away with a three pointer here in an easy fashion, as players of Elche are really doing poor away from home being no able to score on the road in last five competitive matches.
