Atalanta vs Sampdoria by Enzo
After expected defeat away to Inter in the season opener, Atalanta now has a streak of four matches without defeat and it could be said that the team is in a very decent form. They have really improved in the last month and it seems that the club will be able to get their target in an easier way this season, to detach themselves from the relegation zone and stay safe near the end of the season.
In the most recent game, they won on the road against Empoli on Thursday evening 1:0. Only goal was scored in 31st minute thanks to a goal from Toloi, while the game itself looked balanced in a way of ball possession, but the players of Atalanta had more concrete chances and looked a bit more fluent with the ball in their feet. They are now in the middle of the table with eight points earned and even though they are surely going for a victory here, they wouldn't be lot disappointed in case of a draw as well. Full back Brivio is injured, however without performing this season. Winger Estigarribia (1/0) is also injured, while new loss for the home side is midfielder Carmona (2/0). Defender Masiello should be recovered on time and in starting lineup.
Sampdoria, on the other side, will have hard time to repeat the previous season when the team played superbly under coach Sinisa Mihajlovic and earned Europa League ticket, but the team didn't start that bad either under new coach Walter Zenga. After five rounds played, they have three victories, a draw and a defeat and in case of a three pointer here, they would be as high as third placed side with only two points from the top.
In the most recent game on Wednesday evening they surprised a lot to defeat Roma at home with a 2:1 result. Visiting side looked better, had more of the ball possession and chances created, but the home side also looked deadly serious with the ball to their feet and simply always looked threatening, knowing what they wanted at any time of the game. Of course that their morale is boosted after this game and that the team will now try to get first away three pointer after a defeat against Torino and a draw taken away to Napoli. Defender De Silvestri is still injured, from the start of the season. Central defender Coda (2/0) is also injured, same as defensive Cassani (3/0). Other defender, Silvestri (5/0) is another loss for the visitors, who welcome back midfielder Palombo.
Both teams seem to await this game in a pretty good shape. Sampdoria is surely a bit more quality side, but they aren't yet to be trusted, especially not when they miss so many players in the defense. Visitors have been very competitive in all matches, but the hosts will surely try to exploit their situation in the defensive lineup, so my choice for this game will be both teams to score, an open game which should result in over goals.
