Atalanta vs Roma by Enzo
Atalanta is really enjoying start of the new season, especially in last few weeks as the team comes from fourth consecutive victory now, being also undefeated in last seven rounds with six victories and just one draw away to Fiorentina. In between, they had nice victories over Napoli and Inter for example, which put them now at fifth position at the table with just four points less than today's opponents from Rome.
In the most recent game, the team easily outplayed and won convincingly on the road against Sassuolo 3:0 before the international break. It was yet another close to briliant performance from team from Bergamo, as they took the double lead already after twenty-four minutes of play, with goals from Gomez and Caldara, making their game much more easier. Sassuolo tried and had a bit more of the ball possession, but their ball movement wasn't impressive at all, while the guests managed to score the third in 43rd minute via Conti and seal the victory without many problems experienced in the second halftime. Even though they are now awaiting Roma, the team is fired up to continue with their good performances and results and continue being in the upper part of the table.
Defender Andrea Conti (10/1) is now suspended, while injured with thigh problems are defenders Abdoulay Konko (8/0) and Boukary Drame (8/0). Team welcomes back couple of players for this one.
Roma, on the other side, comes from a convincing victory taken in front of own fans against Bologna two weeks ago, as the team easily outplayed the opponent with a 3:0 result. Salah brought them into the lead in thirteenth minute, while Bologna also tried and had some decent chances, but the home team looked way more concrete with the ball and more important, more efficient.
Salah scored second in 62nd and it was obvious that Roma will be the one to get all three points, while the Egyptian scored his hat-trick in 71st minute to seal their victory after a goalless draw away to Empoli week earlier. Roma is now undefeated in last six matches in Serie A, having five victories and a draw, as the team continues to be at the second position and need to get a victory here in order to stay four points behind leaders from Juventus.
Doubtful for this game is forward Francesco Totti (6/2) with a hip problem, while injured remain defenders Thomas Vermaelen (2/0), Emerson (6/0), midfielders Alessandro Florenzi (9/0) and Leandro Paredes (10/1).
- Atalanta have seen over 2.5 goals in 8 of their last 9 home matches against Roma.
Both teams are doing more than fine job at the moment, with Atalanta beating all the odds for now. It means that the home team can play a bit more relaxed here and should be able to exploit such situation with another positive performance. Roma is surely a better team, but will most likely have hell of a task here in order to get the three pointer and I expect both teams to be very dangerous, but also concrete in front of opponents' goal.
