Atalanta vs Bologna by Enzo
Atalanta comes from third consecutive game without a victory in Serie A last weekend, since the team didn't manage to get something out of their visit to Sampdoria suffering 3:1 defeat. However, they opened the game way better and maybe deserved the double lead at the halftime, but had a 1:0 lead thanks to a goal from Cristante in 21st minute.
They continued well too, but had some poor phases in the match and the hosts were able to revert the scoreline within three minutes (in 56th and 59th minute) via Zapata and Caprari, while the guests looked overall better in second as well but the goal never came, with Linetty sealing the victory for Sampdoria in 68th minute. Atalanta now stands at 12th position at the table with nine points earned, four more than relegating worried sides. They didn't have very difficult game last Thursday winning over Apollon in Europa League 3:1 in Reggio Emilia leading the table now with seven points.
Central back Rafael Toloi (5/0) remains injured, while midfielder Joao Schmidt anyway didn't perform so far and remains out with a knee problem.
Bologna, on the other side, comes from thrid consecutive victory in Serie A last weekend, as the side managed to get a three pointer in a home game against Spal last weekend with a 2:1 result. However, must be said that they didn't outplay the opponent as it was expected, but simply played up to the level it was needed to maintain the positive result.
They were better in the first halftime and deservedly took the lead in 30th minute via Poli, increasing it in 49th with an own goal, remaining a bit passive on the field with the guests reducing the scoreline towards the end via Antenucci, but having no time to do something more in attack. Bologna now stands at seventh position with 4-2-2 record and actually shared the sixth Europa League position together with Sampdoria, surely wanting to continue with impressive streak.
Central midfielder Saphir Taider (6/0) remains sidelined, same as right back Ibrahima Mbaye (6/0) and central defender Domenico Maietta (3/0) due injuries.
- Atalanta have won 5 of their last 6 matches against Bologna.
- There have been over 2.5 goals scored in Atalanta's last 3 home games (Serie A).
Atalanta is not playing that poor at all, on contrary they probably did deserve some more points on their count for now. Bologna on the other side, is playing very well for the moment and are in a great form. I see the match being more open and attacking one than what the current odds suggest.
