Angers vs Lille by Lucien
Angers is not doing that bad into the new season, having in mind capacity of the club, since they currently reside in the middle of the table with fourteen points earned and a 4-2-5 record. It's far from ideal, since they are only four points above the relegation zone, but the team really impressed with few of their performances this season.
It goes especially for their home matches. In the most recent game they however suffered 1:0 defeat away to Guingamp last weekend, even though the result could have been different as well. However, truth to be told, hosts were a bit more active on the field and pushed when needed, scoring the only goal in 78th minute via de Pauw, leaving no time to visiting team to respond.
Forward Billy Ketkeophomphone (5/1) remains injured with a knee problem, same as goalkeeper Alexandre Letellier (who anyway didn't perform this season).
Lille is far away from a positive start in the new season, as the team now has the same number of points as relegating placed Caen (ten points out of eleven rounds) and the team doesn't inspire with confidence at all. This especially goes for their away matches, where the team has managed to pick up only one point out of five games played.
They couldn't do much more in their previous Ligue One game played, when the team welcomed PSG last weekend and suffered only narrow 1:0 defeat. Parisians were better from the first till last moment, but Lille players stood decently in defense and all the visitors were able is to get a three pointer with only one goal scored, back in 65th minute via Cavani. On the other side, there was very little what players of Lille did in attack.
Visitors can't count at experienced central defender Marko Basa (5/1), but also at midfielder Rony Lopes (5/2) and forward Ryan Mendes (7/0). Midfielders Mounir Obbadi (2/0) and Eric Bautheac (7/0) and forward Nicolas De Preville (6/0) are all injured and should sit out. Suspended is central defender Renato Civelli (10/1)
- Angers have seen under 2.5 goals in their last 3 matches against Lille.
I give a small advantage to the home team here, however my first choice here will be under goals. Neither of the teams are coming in perfect form here and I can't see this game be anywhere close to a open and attacking one. Line might be risky, but the odds are well worth of it.
