Amiens vs Marseille by Lucien
Amiens didn't start the season in a good way, but the team managed to improve in last two rounds and get six pointer in these two clashes now completely reverting the atmosphere in their own favor. They firstly suffered defeats against PSG, Angers and St Etienne without single goal scored in these three, but then reverted everything with a 3:0 victory over quite strong Nice.
In the most recent match, they managed to walk away with a first three pointer on the road too, winning over Strasbourg with a narrow 1:0 victory. Only goal was scored in 13th minute with a goal from Kakuta, in actually quite a passive matches overall where neither of the teams actually tried to risk a lot, neither looked like willing to risk, especially not the guests who stood satisfied with the outcome since early in the match. Amiens is now two points above the relegation zone and surely want to continue in the same manner.
Hosts wil be playing in 4-4-1-1 with Konate as central striker plus Kakuta as offensive midfielders. defender Mathieu Bodmer (3/0) is injured, same as midfielder Guessouma Fofana (2/0).
Marseille, on the other side, comes from a 1:3 defeat at home against Rennes last weekend in Ligue 1 in quite a unexpected manner, as everyone expected them to bounce back after a defeat away to Monaco in round before. They had much more of the ball possession during the clash, but the players of Rennes stunned them with two goals inside first ten minutes, firstly via Khazri in second minute, then via Bourigeaud few moments later, while it was really difficult for the hosts to get back into the match.
Guests scored even third in 70th minute via Gnagnon, while the players of Marseille only managed to reduce the deficit via Sanson in 87th minute. It was their second consecutive defeat as the team now dropped down to the middle of the table, while they also come from a narrow 1:0 victory at home over Konyaspor in Europa League clash last Thursday evening - only goal scored by Rami in 48th minute of the match.
Guests should be playing in 4-3-3 formation with Thauvin, Germain and N'Jie. Guests have no injury worry but much will depend on their fitness due to Europa League clash. The match probably still comes soon for forward Mitroglou.
- Amiens have gone 5 consecutive matches without a draw.
Marseille will surely be looking to get back on the positive way in Ligue 1, while Amiens surely remains now with improved atmosphere and moreover, surely morale boosted and with a decent chance to make a positive outcome again. Both teams to score in an open game and three goals at least is my call here.
