Altach vs Ried by Gustav
Altach comes from a very important victory last weekend, as the team managed to snatch a three pointer away from home against Mattersburg following 2:1 victory. They took the lead first, in 23rd minute with a goal from Dovedan, but stood playing with a man less at the end of the first halftime when Ngamaleu got excluded.
Their opponents were close to much better from that moment on, as Altach had to play passively and the hosts managed to level up the result in 69th via Templ. They were pushing for the second as well, but Altach stole the victory in fifth minute of additional time, against the flow of the game with a goal from Ngwat-Mahop. After this victory, the team remained sharing the first position with Sturm Graz, being just two points above third placed Austria Vienna and naturally, remain in a must win situation now. Home team will miss suspended midfielder Ngamaleu (9/3), plus injured defender Zwichenbrugger (2/0) and forward Aigner (who didn't perform so far).
Ried, on the other side, comes from another defeat, this time after a bit disappointing performance at home against St Polten in a 1:2 loss. They were however the first ones to take the lead, breaking the opponents defense with a goal from Reifeltshammer in second minute of additional time.
However, visitors responded with much better fighting spirit in the second halftime and quickly leveled up the scoreline in 53rd minute with a goal from Petrovic, scoring the winner in last moments of the game via Lumu - being rewarded for their determination towards the end of the game. This was fifth defeat for Ried in last six matches in Bundesliga, as the team remained third from the bottom, with seventeen points so far, seven more than relegating placed Mattersburg. Ried will miss defender Hart (14/0) and midfielder Nutz (8/1). Doubtful for tonight's game are defender Honsak (16/2), midfielder Moschl (12/1) and forward Walch (11/3).
Altach has showed so much more in the new season and the team looks rock solid in all areas. Ried, on the other side, doesn't look like a side that is able to fully confront against such an in-form side.
