Altach vs Mattersburg by Gustav
Altach had a very unlucky result last wekk. Although they had a 2:0 lead early to the eleventh minute against Sturm, they failed to take the victory in the first official game for 2016. Sturm equalized in the last minute of the game and formed the final result. They lost a very good chance to escape from the positions of relegation but they still maintain a seven point distance.
Now they are facing Mattersburg, again at home, and they should appear more careful after the lesson from the draw against Sturm. I am sure they will not be fooled due to the recent bad results of Mattersburg and that they will give everything to take all three points. Good news that main striker Hannes Aigner (13 games, 5 goals) is back to the main eleven after serving suspension, while new striker Mihret Topcagic, key defender Jan Zwischenbrugger (15 games) and right winger Patrick Seeger (18 games, 1 goal) are all ready to participate. Only main midfielder Felix Roth (16 games, 1 goal) will miss the game.
Mattersburg suffered a shock result on Tuesday night, as they have been excluded from the Austrian Cup against St. Polten (1:2). They started better and had the control of the game, and everything was like they will get the qualification. But with the first time they were threatened, received a goal, while their defense looked shaky during the whole match.
A few days earlier, they were lucky to get a 3-3 draw against Ried, the first official game in 2016 in their stadium. They were totally absent from the game to the first 60 minutes, and only played a good period to the last twenty minutes. Now away to Altach they will try not to receive a goal giving more emphasis in the defensive line. Only with this way they can have luck to this match in my opinion. Defender Michael Novak (8 games) is suspended, while key midfielder Mario Grgic (11 games, 2 goals) is seriously injured and will miss for many months.
Altach will be fresher, they had no game midweek, they have good squad news with returns of key players, while Mattersburg suffered a shock result midweek for the Cup, and they generally do not play good at all recently. I think that Altach has everything with their side today and that they will get all three points.
