Aljaz Bedene vs Martin Klizan by DamirJ
Aljaz Bedene is typical challenger player, who still has some chance to make further improvement and reach ATP level. As said, he plays mostly on challenger tournaments, mostly on clay which makes this tournament a perfect chance for him to show to the ATP level that he is not just another challenger player who doesn't stand a chance playing at higher level. His results in last two years were promising, but still only at challenger tournaments. He has won three challengers, in Casablanca, Barletta and Kosice this spring occupying sixth position at Challengers race rankings. However, his appearances at ATP tournaments were totally another story as he lost to Fidel Del Bonis in first round of Barcelona, just as against Nalbandian in second round of Belgrade Open, beating his today's opponent in first round firstly.

Martin Klizan, on the other side, is looking like more and more competitive played at the ATP level. He had a similar career till now just like his opponent Bedene. However, although he is only seven days older than Bedene, he made much bigger progress at ATP tournaments till now. Martin also has won three challengers this season, but he also played in main draw of French Open where he lost to Mahut in four, just like he played in main draw of Wimbledon, winning against Chela in five sets (five set marathon ended with a 11-9 result), losing to Troicki in second round, once again in five sets.
Latest result of Klizan are looking much better then of his opponent. He had a final of Prague challenger and won challenger in Bordeaux before playing at Roland Garros and Wimbledon, while Bedene lost a first qualifying round of Wimbledon and lost in first round of Marburg challenger to Simon Greul. Martin looks like more confident player at this level and with surely at least slightly better results in previous weeks.
