ADO Den Haag vs NEC Nijmegen by Isaiah
The home match of ADO Den Haag against Vitesse was postponed due to failure of drainage of the field and was scheduled for October 2, and Den Haag now faces bottom placed NEC Nijmegen after the two consecutive defeats away to Heracles (1:0) and at home against Roda (0:4). Against Heracles they were quite well in the first half and they came close to score twice in the first minutes of the game, but then gave the reins to the home side who were better over the rest of the game and rightly won all three points.
ADO Den Haag did not started good in this season and already counts four defeats in the first five games, and the return to the successes is a must tonight. To the last few games they seem stuck offensively, while there are problems at the back since there wasn't a substantial strengthening in this area during the summer transfer window. Main right back Dion Malone is suspended, while regular midfielder Kevin Jansen is seriously injured and will miss most of the season. Sub right winger Mitchell Schet will stay out due to injury, but young romanian striker Catalin Tira is finally available. Mike van Duinen (5/2) will play in attack, probably with Michiel Kramer as partner (5/1). Ninos Gouriye and Jerson Cabral will play to the wings as usually.
NEC Nijmegen comes from three consecutive draws, the last one at home against Feyenoord (3-3) but they remain without a win to the league. To the game against Feyenoord they were too lucky as Feyenoord had more opportunities to score and also had two shots to the bar with Pele. For another game Nijmegen had some really bad defensive behavior with lot of mistakes.
Nijmegen is improved after the change in coaching staff, but the time to return to winning ways still did not came, and they ignore a victory since 22 of February during last season when they won against Willem II. Key defender Tobias Haitz was injured and will miss at least for one month, while top goalscorer Michael Higdon will not play tonight as he has an injury problem. Young right back Daan Disveld and young attacking midfielder Seydina Diarra are still out injured.
Both teams in need of a positive result but Nijmegen inspires no confidence at all in the defense and they received already 20 goals in 6 games, while they will play without their key defender and their top scorer. The fact is that Den Haag is more fresh at the moment after the Vitesse game postponement, and i think that they have a good change for a victory tonight.
