Crystal Palace vs Bournemouth (By: Shibby)
Barclays Premier League for me and it's the final week of premiership football. The title can still be won by either Manchester City or Liverpool so it sounds like it'll be a good one. The game i've selected will be played at Selhurst Park, London and will kick off at 15:00 UK Time.
The game will be played between Crystal Palace and Bournemouth. The home side head into this fixture sat in 12th in the table on 46 points. Even with a win today the best Palace can finish is 11th (if West Ham lose). So not really much to play for at all. Their season has been ok as in my opinion they have an average manager in Roy Hodgson. I don't think he's the right person to take Palace to the next level. He has a decent squad to play around with in my opinion.
Palace have won 13, drawn 7 and lost 17 from their 37 league games so far, they lie on 46 points. Their form of late has been very inconsistent, they seem to win a game, then lose or draw, then win a game, then lose or draw. They haven't really got a decent run together and that's whats cost them a little this season. Their last 8 games consist of LWLWLWDW, as you can see, no consistent performances at all. They do head into this game unbeaten in 3 games which is something, they beat Arsenal 3-2 at the Emirates, then drew 0-0 with Everton at Selhurst Park. Their last game was another 3-2 win vs Cardiff.
Palace is the only new injury concern for Roy and he will need to be assessed before the game. The visitors for the game are Bournemouth, they have a huge injury list to worry about. Manager Eddie Howe has advised the media that David Brooks and Dan gosling are out, as are Solanke, Surman, Cook, Francis, Stanislas, Daniels and Rico. This will no doubt have an impact on their performance today.
The Cherries again have had a great season in the Premier League, they really seem to be building the squad up really well. I like the way in which they play and I think a top 12 finish is a great result. Bournemouth have just won 5 games on the road this season with 1 draw and 12 defeats. They don't seem to travel very well.
Their last 7 games has seen them win 2 (5-0 vs Brighton and 1-0 vs Spurs - Spurs were down to 9 men). Other than that they've drawn 1 3-3 with Southampton and then lost 3 vs Leicester (2-0), Burnley (3-1) and Fulham (1-0). So their form hasn't been great lately. This coupled with their increased injury list I think will mean that Palace have a great chance to win here in front of their home fans.
I'll be backing a Crystal Palace win at a good price of 1.90 with Bet365. Good luck all.
