Hamburger SV vs RB Leipzig (By: DamirJ)

HSV was huge favorite to get the victory over Aue at home, but the side was limited and held to a 1:1 game only last Saturday afternoon.

They had much more of the ball possession, however the side failed to be more concrete. Still, they are two points above third placed Paderborn and do remain favorites to clinch the direct promotion.

RB Leipzig took a very important victory away from home 1:2 against Gladbach in a game that probably decided their future of playing in the Champions League next season.

They simply took the lead and held back, not being in need to chase anything and managed to lower down the tempo. They are now safe having ten points more than fifth-placed Gladbach and can focus on the Cup game.

The home side misses central defender Jung (9/0) and also offensive players Ito (14/0) and Samperio (2/0). The guests miss central back Upamecano (14/0) and defensive midfielder Adams (9/0).

HSV has very little to lose here knowing that their primary focus is 2. Bundesliga, while they surely know that they can't defend all night long. Neither they will be able to, since RB Leipzig posses great quality in attack. There's plenty of more quality speaking in favor of the visiting side, that should end up victorious in an very open game.

Will Leipzig take this seriously? they have been playing many games in the last month.

@Lord Posho I don't see anything in their schedule to indicate that. So far they have played an average of 1 match a week this month. Yes. They will take this match seriously. BTTS also has decent odds.

will they take it seriously? ahem

why not?

league is kinda over for them, being on an almost certain fixed 3rd spot

cup is the only title left for them and they did not "play many games in the last month", they had the same amount as hamburg, only regular season games.

while i dont know about hamburg (althoug they seem to be in a crisis), i surely can say that leipzig is one of the best teams in bundesliga right now next to frankfurt. hamburg will park the bus and fight, still i see leipzig winning it in 90

Hi I'm from Germany.

Red Bull Leipzig was founded just 10 years ago, the DFB Cup final could be the first big final for them. You will take that 100% seriously and win as well. But I say victory Leipzig to zero without conceding. Leipzig has a completely different class than HSV.

I was not being disrespectful, just asking a question out of genuine interest.
Some countries don't value the cup competitions as much as others.
I must confess I was doing work and eating breakfast at same time and consufed RB with Eintracht Frankfurt.
Helpful insight - thank you to all.

I see RB Leipzig to score two or more goals here. All we know RB can do anything at any time.
