Albirex Niigata vs Avispa Fukuoka (By: Dajkula)
Albirex Niigata will host Avispa Fukuoka in round 5 of the J2 league. Both will be hoping this is the season they can return to premier flight though they are not the sides with great influence on the J1. Albirex was the side that relegated in the last season but failed to get into the promotion battle. Avispa was closer and much better placed on the table but this doesn`t seem to be a repeat season. Albirex started the season on a high and if it were not for the game with the untouchable Kashiwa they would be without a loss. Albirex has 2-1-1 so far with 6:3 gd. They played most of their matches away with good results but that home loss was against Kashiwa. The team is not dependant on one player but they are getting a bit too experienced in attack with Tanaka and Yano well in their thirties. So they brought in the experienced Korean Cho Younf Cheol and the Brazilian Silvinho to add some more bite.
Avispa Fukuoka was a quite potent side last season but they finished just outside the play-off positions. This season is a bit different and they haven`t started all that great. Actually, they are on the mere lat place of the league with 0-1-3 and 2:6 gd. They have found it hard to score and have scored just twice in 4 games. They don`t have a dependable striker so they brought one from Korea – Yang Dong Hyen who scored in his first match. Avispa has, so far, lost to Okayama, Sanga and the newcomers Ryukyu. They drew with Nagasaki. Certainly not the toughest sides in the league but yet they failed.
Today, Niigata will miss Kenta Hirose while Avispa will miss Kennedy Egbus-Mikuni.
I do expect Albirex to continue to ride the table and become one of the prominent sides. I choose the home win.
